"I contacted them because they were highly rated on Angi. My carpets are 28 years old. I have had cleaners come in and tell me just to replace the carpet. This company came in and did an AMAZING job! My carpets look new. Pet stains were removed and the stairs are immaculate, I would recommend them without hesitation. I would hire them again in a heartbeat!"

"It is a pleasure to give Kevin a positive recommendation. He was prompt professional and did a quality job. He laid the hardwood floor in 2 bedrooms in less this a day and a half. The house was left clean and he communicated very well when decisions had to be made regarding the installation. He is a good, safe choice if you need work done, <br />"

"They did a good job. We went in there, we were driving around getting estimates. We went in and talked to the sales lady, we picked a good high quality carpet and pad. The reason we would not use them again they tore up the screen on one window and never replaced it. My biggest complaint, the sales lady was very very helpful during the purchasing period, she said once the carpet was installed she was going to do a walk through with us. Well we never heard from her again, there were a few things I wanted to point out to her, minor things. The carpet looks good, it was a good job. I would just not use them again because the lack of customer good will."

"They were way too expensive for what we wanted done. We're holding off on what we were going to do. They were very nice to work with. The quote was for having the whole house re-hardwood, and it was around $20,000. We were taking the hardwood out of the kitchen and putting tile in there, but every place that had carpet in it, which are the bedrooms and our upstairs, would have been hardwood. The most expensive part of it was the removing of the old flooring. There is engineered wood down, and that was the expense. They were very friendly and very, very helpful. It took a few days for them to respond back with a quote once they came out; it was almost a week, which I thought was a little timely."

"From the beginning at the store, I had such a great experience. Doug took the time to go over all my questions, he helped me stay within the budget I was looking to keep. Jessica came and did the measurement on the house. She also answered all my questions. When Jessica and Josh delivered my flooring, they walked through the house to ensure Josh knew exactly what was going where. Josh took the time to ease my mind on all my questions. When they came to install, all the guys were awesome. Friendly and doing their best for me. At the end of the day I got updates from Josh as to what was done and making sure that I was liking the work done so far. I am so pleased with my floors, it really makes my house look totally brand new. I wish I could give them a A+."

"Our purple carpet had about 100 urine stains from previous dogs and our own. The specialist, Robert, matched to color and treated every spot. If we didn't know where they were, we'd never know they spots had been there. Perfect job!"

"<p>We had a bathroom floor replaced last month.  We now had carpeting replaced as described above.</p> <p>We again went to their store and picked out the carpeting we wanted.  Dallas and Donna were very helpful in describing our options.  The installers (James) came on the date agreed on and went above and beyond in moving furniture, boxes, etc., installing the new carpeting and moving everything back in place.</p> <p>The experience was very positive and I would not hesitate contacting Aiken Flooring again for any work we need in the future.</p>"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Harlem, GA

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
