"United Freight of America did an absolutely fantastic job! I have never needed a service like this before, but I went to Angie's list found the highest rated service and United Freight came through perfectly! Very responsive and professional staff! The driver who delivered the car was courteous and professional too! Excellent job!"

"The experience was very good overall. Once we contacted Mr. Carter, he got back to us and provided an estimate. He came out to do the work when he said he would and completed the installation in just over an hour. After the install was complete, he made sure we were happy with the work. The final cost was equal to Mr. Carter's estimate. We are very pleased with the results and our son looks forward to enjoying the fan as the weather warms up."

"This was for my house in Augusta. This guy was the best I have ever encountered and I wish he would come to Atlanta. This guy was ex-military and he was on it. Whatever it was he would get it fixed right away. He was very responsive. He also does work for Home Depot. I would like to recommend him because he was incredible. He was not going to charge less than a $100.00 for anything. It depends on what he had done. He had done a lot of work for me and my mother's house. He has been reasonable. If it was a handy man it was hard to say what he charged. For him to just go there it was $45.00. He was setup to do anything. Harry was very professional, very prompt and always on time. He was very responsive."

"The finished project is great and pretty much what we had in our minds eye before the work began. Mr. Tallent and his crew maintained a professional attitude throughout the job. The job required them to enter and exit my home many times during the course of the days they were working. While they did track debris in from time to time Mr. Tallent had taken the precaution of putting an adhesive rug protection walkway in the areas his crew would traverse. He also had all of the furnishings in the master bedroom draped in plastic to protect them from construction dust. The project was done in two stages first was to build the space and second to put in the stuff that makes up a closet.
The project was estimated to have a 3 week duration but went quite bit longer, this would be one of the few negatives I will say about the project. There were a number of contributing factors some of which were beyond Tallent's control, the biggest being the ice storm that hit a week and a half into the project. The storm damage to the Augusta area (power losses and downed trees) affected a lot of the areas people and businesses and cost us about a week in the schedule. There were also various other delays that resulted in 2 additional weeks of delay.
The quality of the work was good to excellent. The reason I hired Tallent's Porches and Decks for this project was my previous experience with them (the first project was to remove an existing deck and replace it with a screened in porch and deck). Mr. Tallent takes obvious pride in his work and often went above and beyond what he said he would do or what was required. He and his crew were generally prompt and always professional. After the work was done I was walking around the side of my house and noticed that a piece of siding that had been damaged years ago and not part of this project had been replaced. This repair was done without me asking nor had I been told it had been done - that is above and beyond. I have only one area where I felt the quality was not as good as it should have been and that was painting. When we were returning our clothing to the closet we noted several places were there was obvious color differences, most likely spots that did not receive a second coat of paint. I did not report this to Mr. Tallent but if I had I am sure he would have had the paint crew back at my house the next day.
I have hired Mr Tallent twice for significant projects and would do so again without hesitation. I feel I have found a truly honest, professional, and talented (pun intended) company that stands behind there work and do it with pride.
"

"The first day install of the walk in door was ok except the door was hinged to open out in the wrong direction. The build of the barn style bay door did not go well and essentially 3 hours after my brother suggested how to attach the plywood on the outside they did so and stopped for the day. When I complained as I considered the men not able to do the job the boss Randy came out on Monday with the same 2 men and claimed that we didn't specify how the door should open and stated that there would be no extra charge to do the build right. We (my brother and I) explained "Old School" side hinged bay doors were built out of wood and not just a metal frame with plywood put only on the outside as they thought. The workmen then went to work building the door as we asked with interior and exterior casing over the metal frame. The owner Randy Tudor had claimed when he was there that he didn't have his notes with so could not say what the price was. When the job was complete he failed to come to get payment and sent a text message indicating the total was 1625.00 for the job. Today, Wednesday after texting back and forth a couple of times he showed up and provided a receipt for the agreed sum of 1200.00 for the job and accepted payment stating he wasn't going to argue the price."

"The provider arrived promptly at the time that we had agreed upon. The owner (Bob) arrived as well. The technician hooked up the his equipment and got right to work. The owner explained to me every step that was being taken and why it needed to be done. I am a curious sort so I had lots of questions about the equipment and everything else and Bob was very patient and explained everything that I asked. I was very impressed with the speed with which the job was done, and I was quite please with the outcome because the house looked as good as it did the day siding was installed. Aiken Soft Wash even went above and beyond the required service by also cleaning some of my brickwork that was stained. I give this company my strongest recommendation. I believe that it would be very difficult to get the quality and level of service that they provide anywhere else.
"

"Nathan and his crew had built a sleeping porch and daybed swing for our neighbors and came highly recommend both by them and Angie's list. We found ourselves with a growing and changing list of carpentry and handyman needs in preparation for putting our house on the market for sale. We contacted Nathan with a few needs initially. I called him on a Saturday and he arrived promptly on Monday to give a quote for deck repair/reinforcement and a couple of smaller jobs. We were undecided on whether to replace the upper part of the deck. A home inspection suggested we didn't have to. By the time we decided to have the work done, the ice storm hit and everyone was delayed for obvious reasons. Nathan was excellent about being in touch and letting me know when I could expect him. In the meantime our list of jobs changed often and Nathan took that in stride. Ultimately Nathan and Mike started the Monday after the storm and had a list of about 20 items including rebuilding the deck railings. They arrived at 8 am and got straight to work. They worked diligently Monday and Tuesday always promptly starting and 8 and finishing about 4:30. They were polite and pleasant. Nathan even hauled away some items not related to their work when I asked. Wednesday morning they showed up with a much larger crew and I was concerned that would mean a greater expense. (The jobs I asked of them had changed so many times, I was no longer sure what the my tab would be.) Steven worked inside for 2 days replacing hinges on all our doors, changing weatherstripping and thresholds, installing a ceiling fan, changing knobs and hinges on a vanity, replacing a front porch light, extending a gutter, installing a window box, and tightening some faucets. Jamie and Chris took over and finished the deck, then Jamie used treated wood to reinforce some areas in our crawl space that had been damaged by water and termites. While in the crawl Nathan noted an additional leak and took my husband to the area to show it to him. Plumbing is one of the only areas they do not handle a lot, so they recommended another provider to check that out. Many people would not have even mentioned it if they couldn't fix it. In the end, the tally was just $600 more than the original estimate. We were pleasantly surprised given that I had added about 15 jobs to their list and it had taken 4 days instead of the originally estimated 2-3 days (for the first short list). We met and observed a total of 5 guys from BHR and every one of them was pleasant, polite, kind to my children, and hardworking. It was an exceptional experience in every way. We are likely ruined for all other contractors as I doubt BHR will come to our new home in Tennessee for future projects and other crews will surely pale in comparison!
UPDATE: Much of the work Nathan and his guys did for us was in preparation for us to put our house on the market. Our house sold in 5 days, and, three months later, we had a mover put his foot through the attic into our kitchen ceiling. We had a walk through with the new owner scheduled for less than 48 hours later and were moving out of state. We needed quality work done fast. Nathan took care of us once again. He had someone out to repair the ceiling within 24 hours and it looked good as new for the walk through. I doubt he can always be available on such short notice, but he understood our situation and saved the day."
