"Hal was very responsible and competent and friendly.  He was a little busy (it was the hottest part of summer and he had multiple emergency calls to attend to also), and it took a little longer than I initially expected to get the job done, but in fairness to him, he had to work with the water company to turn the water on and off, he had to come out to the townhome multiple times to check on things, to trouble-shoot, to install different valves and plumbing, and to improve the ventilation ductwork for the HVAC so it would cool and heat the home properly.  He was practical in his approaches to solving issues, resourceful, he worked extremely well independently and was reliable and trustworthy.  I am very pleased with the work he performed for me. <br />"

"They did an excellent job, came in, and did the job got out. Actually, I tried to take it fixed what was wrong and I believe more than mess, tried to fix it, but he did. I am happy with everyone from Angie's List. He came in and we talked about what was wrong. He will do it about how much it would cost, came in, and did what he said what he was going to do. He told the parts but within the price was waiting for me. He cleared that and the suggestions are hard to keep it clear. And I paid him and he left. I was a happy man. He did a great job. He was here when he said he was going to be. And I did have to wait around for him. He did what he said he was going to do and all the equipment that he needed. He did not waste any time."

"Previously only owned properties with city connected water so I know very little about well-water management (which is why I cannot comment on pricing because I do not have a frame of reference).  Came home Sunday night to discover that my water was barely making it out of various faucets so I went on Angie's List for a reco on Monday morning.  Good reviews on area companies, what sets Pocono Well & Pump apart for me is they have 24 hour emergency service.  Called Kyle just before 7am and he picked up right away, listened to my concerns and told me he had a full schedule but would do what he could to fit me in.  He let me know he would give me an idea of timing after he met with the team and true to his word, I received a call a few hours later letting me know they would get to me that day and give me a 20 minutes heads up so I could leave work and meet them at the house.  Michael and John came around 4, identified the problems and got straight to work.  They were easy to talk to, very professional, and conscientious of my 3 year old running around while peppering them with "how is it going?" questions.  They calculated the cost right in the moment, there was no surprises.  Really pleased with the responsiveness and the service, especially since the thought of well problems brings a level of immediate panic about high costs/living conditions.  Highly recommend this provider. <br />"

"I bought a new house a few years ago and had only a rough idea of where the septic tanks were. To make it even more difficult, neighbors informed me that they were about four feet down, so this was not anything that we were going to find shoveling by hand. <br /> Fenkner was there early enough to unload his equipment and was ready to start by the estimated arrival time. He quickly found the septic tanks, three of them, and discovered one had a cracked riser cover. The cracked cover was not his fault and most likely mine for parking on it before I knew where they were located. <br /> He replaced the cover with a new one and pumped the tanks and of course covered them back up. <br /> Given the equipment he needed to locate and access the tanks, the new cover and pumping the tanks I thought the price was quite reasonable. I would definitely use they again. <br />"

"Just hired this company to replace the shingles on my roof. After hiring them to finish my basement and them doing the excellent job with that - there was no hesitation hiring them again. They handled everything from permits - to providing the dumpster and materials. Wayne oversaw all the deliveries and ensured everything was delivered on time - and placed where needed. The workers showed up on time. The office kept me posted of anything unexpectedly found. Unexpected issues were dealt with seamlessly. The work was done quickly and completed in one day. They left the area spotless. Again, they are the only contractors I would have working on my house. Very reliable and professional - easy communication, expectations are again set ahead of time (and met)."

"The test was simple--collect a water sample from a faucet in the home. We sent the test to the lab and received a water quality analysis within a few days. The test included analysis of the water sample for the presence of: coliform bacteria, E. coli, iron, lead, pH, turbidity, and nitrates/nitrites."

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Hawley, PA

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
