"<p>it was superb! they easiest, hassle free Radon test in town, with extremely proficient people -- very knowledgeable and very people-friendly! they took their time to explain things on the phone to me before I committed. the test came back within 10 days or so -- via email. which is very convenient. it was very clear as it is, but I like talking through it and get advice. they were instantly available to discuss. they gave me future tips to keep on top of all things Radon related. </p> <p>I have to say that all this comes to be after 3 months of many back and forths with 3 other companies -- none of the other companies could be bothered to schedule a time, and those who did, never showed up.. many times over. I don't know why I was so patient with them and I wish had discovered Environmental Testing & Research Laboratories much sooner.</p> <p>Really highly recommend them!</p> <br />"

"<p>My inspector was Ron Cress.  10 years ago when I bought my first house he was my home inspector (when he was with Land America) and I was so impressed with his knowledge, his thoroughness, and his professionalism that when I was buying a new house I hunted him down on the internet and found him working for Buyers Protection Group.  With my first house he saved me a lot of headache by finding over 160 items the builder of house did wrong, including 8 major building code violations.  Without Ron's inspection I would have had an uneven roof, and bannisters that weren't safe for my kids.  I owe him a lot, so I hired him a second time.  He did not disappoint.  Since this house was an existing house his focus was no longer on code, but safety and just general defects.  He found cases of wood rot, plumbing issues, electrical issues where the GFI outlets weren't working correctly, and improper drainage on the roof.  At the same time he was very re-assuring that the house was a very good house, and if these were our only problems then we were in great shape.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>I cannot attest to any of the other inspectors at this company, but I highly recommend Ron.  </p> <br />"

"We bought a house that has roof leak problems and mold problems that the seller intentionally hid at the time of purchase (seller had lived in the house for 23 years and installed new drywall, texture and paint to hide the mold problem). We began discovering the problem within the first month of home ownership. We hired MSE Environmental to preform the initial mold inspection testing, the asbestos testing and the post-remediation clearance test. (Note: asbestos test is required by Nevada law in homes built earlier than a certain year before a legitimate mold remediation contractor can begin remediation work. This is to protect the homeowner so asbestos, if there is any, doesn't become airborne during the remediation work and put occupants in the home at risk. If your mold remediation company says they don't need an asbestos test they are violating the law and putting you and your loved ones at risk. There is a cost for the asbestos test but it was worth it.) MSE is very professional, was here on time - every time, and was prompt with returning reports to us. I hope I never need mold testing again but, if I do, I will absolutely call MSE Environmental. If you need this type of service, I highly recommend them."

FAQs for radon gas testing projects in Henderson, NV

Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the U.S. The gas seeps through cracks in foundations and collects in basements and other low areas. Once you breathe it in, radioactive particles lodge in lung tissue and do long-term damage. Because you can’t see or smell radon, the EPA recommends testing your home every two years—and after major renovations—to keep your family safe.

Yes—every home should be tested. The EPA advises doing it at least every two years and any time you remodel, buy, or sell. On average, one in 15 houses nationwide sits above the recommended limit, and the only way to know where yours stands is a formal test. The equipment simply measures gas levels and won’t change your indoor environment, so the process is completely harmless.

Certified radon professionals—often home inspectors or dedicated radon mitigation contractors—handle testing. These radon testing professionals follow EPA protocols and use calibrated instruments to check levels throughout your house. Hiring a certified radon specialist means results you can trust for real estate deals, insurance requirements, and, most importantly, your family’s health.

Inspectors specialize in measuring radon gas levels, while licensed mitigation contractors design and install the systems that remove it. If your test comes back high, your inspector can point you to a qualified mitigation pro who will size and install the right fan, piping, or other equipment to bring levels down.

No—standard home air purifiers don’t touch radon. They’re built to trap dust and pollen, not radioactive gas. If testing shows high levels, you’ll need a dedicated mitigation system that vents the gas from beneath your home to the outdoors. Relying on a room purifier alone won’t keep your indoor air safe.

Opening a few windows in your home might dilute radon for a short time, but the gas seeps back in as soon as they’re closed. For a lasting fix, you’ll need a professional mitigation system—often a sub-slab depressurization fan—that pulls radon from beneath the foundation and safely vents it outside.
