"A new floor purchased and installed by another location in another city needed to be replaced. Cody Drewry took away the contentiousness that had developed and graciously replaced the floor with a good team who worked carefully and cleaned up when the work was completed. I want to thank Cody for his professionalism and diligence. Cody, when I again need flooring, I will come back to you. This had become a major stress in my life because of the large amount of money spent. Many thanks to Cody for his help in fixing the entire situation."

"The guys were on time and did a great job. Very professional work getting my carpet back in place. Office staff when scheduling the job was very pleasant. It was hard to find someone to do this job so I'm so grateful they were able to handle it flawlessly. The carpet looks better then it did before the foundation work. <br>"

"I talked with these folks when I was getting estimates for replacing a staircase. They were very helpful and informative, to the point of helping me get in touch with someone who could install the staircase using hardwoods, rather than the flooring product that Custom Carpet. Hardwoods, they told me, sometimes perform better over time on staircases <br /> .I was especially impressed with their willingness to help me consider an option that met my needs better, even though it didn't make a sale for them."

"The laminate was laid in one day.  It was a long day, but the installers were meticulous and did a fantastic job!!  They removed the carpet, pad and all the glue, etc.  They laid the laminate, replaced the bottom of the baseboards and then cleaned up everything, and I do mean everything!!!!  There was no trash AT ALL left anywhere! <br /> The carpet was laid the next day.  It took 3 hours this included pulling up the old carpet and pad, laying the new carpet and then cleaning up everything yet again!  <br /> I will DEFINITELY use Akel's Carpet One any time I need flooring!!  I would recommend them to anyone and everyone!!!!!!!"

"The team, Lawrence and John, called when they were on the way and arrived at the scheduled appointment time. They went over the cost with me, which was higher than they told me on the phone. They originally told me it would cost $385 plus $38.50 for each vent over 10. I had 12 vents. So far so good - but the surprise came when they added an additional $200 to clean the HVAC unit. So with tax the total came to $707. BUT they did a fantastic job. They spent 5 hours and they removed all of the vent covers and the air intake covers and took them outside and cleaned them. When they were done the covers looked new. When they were running the big brush through each of the vents they covered all the furniture to keep any dust under control that escaped the big vacuum cleaner as they pulled the brush out of the vent. When they were done and had every thing back together they vacuumed the floor. After the left, I did however, find dust on my kitchen counters but that was no big deal. I was so impressed with their knowledge that I bought a $600 UV unit from them which they installed before they left. The best part was the next morning when I woke up with no congestion!!!!!"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Hensley, AR

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
