"First of all, I would highly recommend my sales person (Joe H.) who helped me so much with the planning.  He had been an installer for Biviano in years past and was very knowledgeable.  In addition to that, he's a very nice person --- no pressure ---just wanted to make sure that I got what I wanted. <br /> The installers, Brian P. and Jerry F. were also great.  They were both professional and made sure that things were done well.  They worked steadily (just breaking for lunch) and kept things tidied up as much as possible as they worked.  The job had been estimated to take two days; Brian came back on day 3 and worked a few hours.  I had a dental appt. scheduled for that third day and left Brian at my house so that he would have sufficient time to finish.  When I returned, he had left and everything was in order, including the garage where his sawing had been done --- the floor had been swept and no evidence of sawing remained!!  When I had moved one of my small end tables the day before, one of the legs had loosened.  Brian had taken the time to fix that for me too. :)  I highly recommend Biviano Carpet One if you're in the market for new flooring.  In fact, my old floor had also been done by them; that's why I returned (40 years later!) <br />"

"Home Carpet Company put in a hardwood floor for me a few years back. They have a guy who will do tile repair work, who is coming today. My wife bought a hardwood floor from them for a 13 x 25 room. They said here's the price, the material will be here in about two weeks. We'll schedule something out whenever's good for you. She picked the dates when she wasn't working, they said they would make it happen that day, and it did. I think it cost about $2900. My wife thought that was a pretty good price. They did a really nice job and took care of the interfaces between the rooms because they had to interface with carpet and ceramic tile."

"I have them on hold, until  the doctor tells me what is going on. I can't really say, they only gave me an quote. They are trying to work with me, because of my medical issues. If I can't get carpet, I will have to do something else. They try to be thrifty with prices. The floors haven't been installed, so I can't grade quality. Those people aren't going to wait. I need to give them answer from my doctor. It depends on what I am doing. Sometimes they would be here, sometimes not. They only have to be out here for the measurements. So, they aren't here constantly. He was really professional. If I find a better price, maybe not. Its nothing personal, or craftsman. Until I can get a better price, and see their craftsmanship, and find out what is going on with me. They are really courteous because of my medical issues. You get an discount if you get installation early before your due date, you get twenty percent discount."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Hermitage, PA

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
