"This was the second time that we have used Ideal.  Their performance this time was as outstanding as it was the first time.  We struggled deciding on the flooring product we wanted to use.  Arnold and Rueben both helped us greatly with their recommendation. the selection of grout color, and their patience with us was greatly appreciated.  The installers always arrived on time and Franciso did a great job of supervising the team of installers.  They cleaned up each day before they left.  When the old carpet was taken out, they recommended laying a membrane across the concrete slab to cover the small fractures and to reduce the chance of any future slab movement.  This was a big concern to because we have some giant oak trees in the front yard that draw a lot of moisture from under the slab.  The tile we selected was a wood look like cherry and it was installed in 3 different widths which made the installation more challenging, but they did a great job with alignment and leveling.  When the tile was completely installed, they cleaned the tile with a mild acid wash to remove any residue grout and brought the tile to a final sparkling luster.  I highly recommend this company."

"The serviceman was very professional and polite, also he communicated with me about his timing which I appreciated. The carpet cleaning was great, made the room smell fresh. It was most important to me that I found a company who used green, non-toxic products so I’m very pleased with UpFront Services. I would probably skip on the extra carpet protectant, I spilled some liquid on my carpet two days later and it didn’t “bead”. Overall I’m really happy with the carpet cleaning service and will refer to friends and family."

"I was pleased with the job of installing even though they underestimated the square footage needed and I had to wait a few days to complete the job. Customer service is excellent and was in constant contact with me until the job was finished. I would recommend them to anyone contemplating buying new carpets."

"Jordan, the manager was awesome. He was incredibly knowledgeable of his product and was able to come and measure the house the very next day. The plan was for the installation to take five days. The installers for the tile were prompt and efficient. The install only took three days. The carpet installation only took six hours. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking to remodel their home. They may be a bit pricy, but you definitely are paying for what you get: excellent service, diligent workers, and efficient installation."

"Rugmasters was recommended by a neighbor. Tim and Lisa were extremely helpful, allowing us to take home sample after sample until we were happy with our choices. The crew was very careful in moving and replacing everything in the way of the installation (pretty much everything we owned that touched the floor on our first floor. The installation took a total of 5 days."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Highlands, TX

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
