"Cesar does great work. He is reliable, kind and responsive. He replaced my kitchen cabinet doors, he installed my new bathroom: including vanity, medicine cabinet, light fixture, tile flooring, and toilet. All came out perfect. He replaced old closet doors with new bi-fold doors, and he helped with many other details I needed. I will definitely be using him again, I am very happy with everything!"

"Our existing storm door was not closing and latching properly. We had to constantly keep it locked with the tongue and strike engaged to avoid having the wind blow it open. This then became a security issue as well as a continual annoyance. We knew this door had to be replaced and soon. After collecting several cost proposals and meeting one contractor with quite a bit of experience, in the end, the labor cost that was given to us came out to be double the amount of all other contractors with the exception of SPEEDY STORM DOORS in Clifton. Vinnie, the Owner, quoted us a Larson storm door which I chose. Larson is a high quality product. Although I tried to do better on the cost of this door, Vinnie's cost to me was equal to the amount I would pay at the better lumber yards that carried the Larson brand. Vinnie's labor cost to install was significantly lower than all of the other contractors I spoke and met with. After meeting and speaking with Vinnie, I then decided to have him do the job. His vast experience and degree of communication made this an easy decision. Following an agreed upon date and time, Vinnie arrived at our home with his truck, fully stocked to support any type of door installation and then some! Working alone, Vinnie proceeded to remove our existing door without hesitation. Much to my surprise, Vinnie then removed a brand new Larson storm door (still in it's factory packaging) from his truck and proceeded to install it. I witnessed all of his work and can say that Vinnie has, in fact, installed hundreds of these doors and his work easily supports that fact. Vinnie paid significant attention to detail, ensuring that all was level and square and each and every fastener was correctly installed including insulation and cosmetic covering. Vinnie did not leave the job until he was satified that the new door operated perfectly. I am a very particular home owner and can say that I was very pleased with Vinnie's work and recommend Speedy Storm Doors to all home owners. I remain thankful that I chose this contractor and not the others! Our existing storm door was not closing and latching properly. "The company’s owner came to our home and personally took the time to sit with us and choose the storm door and back door along with color. He also installed a huge picture window in my kitchen for half the price of Anderson. His employees did a fabulous job, the window took time and clearly they were professionals. If I had any questions at all, I was able to call the owner directly and address minor issues which were resolved the next day. Highly recommend Windstar. Great customer service and professionalism on the job. You won’t be disappointed. I’m in love with the massive picture window in my kitchen. I can’t thank this company enough!"

"

Dealing with All Access was a breath of fresh air. They were the third company I called when looking for repair. They were the only ones that gave me a price over the phone. I was a bit skeptical but Vincent stayed true to his word and fixed the door at the agreed upon price. He explained everything in a way that an old woman like me could understand. Also Its rare that you find a business where the owner does the work as well as give the price. I liked not having to deal with anyone else.

FAQs for storm door installation projects in Hillsdale, NJ

For mobile homes, look for a lightweight storm door designed specifically for manufactured housing. A slimmer frame eases installation and reduces added stress on the doorway, while removable glass or screen panels allow you to switch between airflow and complete protection in minutes. The result is solid weather defense without unnecessary weight and a door that remains easy to operate season after season.

A well-installed and well-maintained storm door can add modest value by improving curb appeal, increasing security, and reducing energy loss. If the door is faded, dented, or hanging loosely, those benefits disappear—and may even harm first impressions. Professional installation ensures the door seal is correctly aligned and keeps the hardware in place, allowing the upgrade to deliver both visual and practical benefits that buyers notice.

Most storm doors last 25 years, and high-end models, when properly cared for, can reach 50 years. Lifespan depends on the frame material, glass quality, and the amount of punishment the door receives from wind, rain, or sun. Regular cleaning, fresh weatherstripping, and prompt repairs keep hinges tight and glass secure, helping the door reach its maximum lifespan.

Allow three to five hours to set a standard pre-hung storm door if the opening is in good condition. If you need to widen the frame or repair wood rot, expect the job to take a whole day to complete. A seasoned installer can complete the job faster and ensure the door sits square, seals tightly, and operates smoothly, saving time that often outweighs the DIY time commitment.

Most single exterior doorways can accommodate a storm door, provided the frame dimensions match those of the new unit. Patio and sliding glass doors are the main exceptions because their tracks won’t support the extra door. If you’re unsure about clearances or hinge placement, consider bringing in a door installer to measure the opening and recommend any necessary adjustments for a secure fit.
