"The carpet layer actually was early. The appointment was scheduled for 8:30 a.m. He arrived shortly after 8:00 a.m. He did a good job. I bought window blinds from the same company. The installer was great! I am actually a repeat customer."

"A couple of years ago I went around town looking for a stair nose material for a stair project I was working on. Unlike all other local companies, Petersen's went all out, getting samples for me to look at, etc., even though this was a very small order for them. For this reason I returned to Petersen's for our kitchen flooring update. Well, Les came out and looked and measured the room. After several communications with Les about some issues with this project, it became apparent that he was really looking at this project from our perspective. It was like he was an agent for us, not just for Petersen's. All of my calls and emails to Les were answered right away. After we finally got things sorted out, the installers came out and did a fine job of installing the floor. After a short while we began to have problems with the flooring materials. Les  contacted the manufacturer and his supplier and sent them samples of the flooring. The manufacturer was not interested in addressing this problem, but Petersen's went all out again and took care of it for us. They could have said they had done all they can do, but instead they stepped up and took care of the problem to our satisfaction. Customer satisfaction is very important to them. <br>"

"Initial contact was great with Chuck and Luke.  Great stories and pictures of other work performed. Their concrete stamper (Arnie), is awesome.  Fabulous work by Arnie!  After contract was signed communication was difficult.  We were told to call anytime of the day and week.  Although they may not answer we were assured that a return call would be made, usually within the hour.  Ha! Luke rarely answered his phone and messages to call were not timely.  Chuck almost always answered although he wasn't over our project so he couldn't provide too much information and deferred to Luke.  No problem, we understand that but, we needed Luke to call.  There was a he said she said several times during the project leaving us to wonder who to believe. We were told by a sub-contractor that he never heard from Luke about certain issues but, Luke would tell us that he spoke to the sub-contractor.  Who to believe?  A truck was driven through our neighbor's yard to gain access and rutted the area.  Several days later we saw our new neighbors looking at the ruts.  What a way to meet your neighbors for the first time.  Overall the project came out great but, there was a lack of comminucation between subs and us.  We didn't appreciate being left in the dark about the progress of work.  What was to be a 2 week project was 5 weeks due to bad weather which is understandable however, an occassional call would be nice. "

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Hillsdale, WY

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
