"Gregory initially proposed using SImonton BrickMold 600 new construction windows because of the 1/8" thicker glass the Brickmold have than the Reflexions 5500 windows. For the slight additional cost Gregory quoted me, I was willing to consider this. Unfortunately, the Brickmold only come with nailing fins; I had 4 windows that were set in brick (the rest in siding), so to use the Brickmold would involve removing the nailing fins, which unfortunately voids the warranty. So Gregory proposed doing the installation as the more labor intensive new construction install with the Reflections 500 windows with the nailing fins (these windows can be installed either with or without the nailing fins without voiding the warranty). I checked with my neighbor, who happens to be a retired estimator for another roofing/windows company, who agreed that using the nailing fins with the Reflexions 5500 windows wherever I had siding and not brick was the preferred method of install. For the price Gregory quoted me, he was equal to or less than the other quotes I received, but he  also included in the price  replacement of two very difficult to access picture windows, including one that probably weighed 800+ pounds. He also agreed to cover the additional expense of any windows local regulations required to be upgraded to tempered glass (which turned out to include the octagonal window and the larger picture window) AND was willing to replace our old window sills (which were builder's grade clipboard-type material that had been damaged by moisture) for just the cost of the material. Lastly, he agree to both take down our mounting hardware for our blinds and put them back up when he was done.
The work took nearly 3 days. Days started at 7 pm sharp and ended about 7:30 pm.
Gregory's foreman, Lucas, was phenomenal. Besides taking extraordinary care to keep our house neat and to work around the nap schedule of a toddler, he was extraordinarily courteous and took time all along the way to tell us how each step would occur each day and to make sure their plans would not interfere with our daily activities.
Gregory also noted our concern about our water damaged windowsills, so after removing the old ones, he placed waterproof material over the over framework, then brought in an outside master carpenter to measure, cut, and edge the new Certateed cellular PVC material he ordered for the new sills. The material, though very expensive compared to wood, has the feel and weight of wood, but is completely waterproof, and comes in white, so that I did not have to get the sills painted in the end.
It should also be noted that all this went on while he was working with wedding preparations for his daughter!
Definitely would use his company again.

"I can only say great things about JA Drywall. We had quite a complicated chimney repair. From the beginning of the process, this company stood out from all the others. Most companies did not return my calls. One did respond but never showed up to start work. The JA Drywall owner came to our initial appointment on time, evaluated the job and gave us a reasonable and fair estimate. The work crew then came on time and worked really hard for two days to repair the chimney. At each stage they kept us informed of progress. "Our basement was flooded by a street water main break back in June that damaged 30 year old wood paneling and drywall. Dana took everything down for us, including a hard to disassemble desk that was built into the wall, and put in new insulation, drywall, a ceiling light, tile, bathroom vanity, trim, and new doors. He went the extra mile by taking out an existing door that was not needed and dry walled it for us, painted the wood paneling to match the rest of the rooms that we were going to keep, and even left us the extra paint from painting all the walls and trim. Dana was very professional and a pleasure to speak with. He always tried to help my husband and I by providing suggestions and information that we as first time home owners didn't think about. There were 2 rooms a large hallway/stairway and a half bath that were renovated. The job only took 2 weeks and we are very pleased. I appreciated that every time he left our house, the job site was cleaned up. Definitely hiring again to complete other home renovations."

"When we first met with Lew Merryfield, our home was a disaster.  Smoke and intense heat had made it necessary to completely gut and restore our home.  It was a time of great despair and confusion.  Lew was very reassuring that his company would be able to handle to assignment and allow us to return to a home that was better than ever, and agreed to bid the job in the format requested.
After the contract was signed the Merryfield Construction Group was very active, and progress was made every week.  We opted to hire our own subcontractors for plumbing and HVAC, and an electrical contractor recommended by the provider.  The provider and their staff worked well with the other contractors and were communicative with us during the process.  A promise to never abandon working on our home for any significant period of time was kept.  Building options and recommendations were presented at appropriate times and were appreciated.  Lew and his brother George worked with us to solve problems that arose and we always felt like it was a partnership and that they took great pride in their work.  Additional work outside the original contract and work change orders were appropriate and reasonably priced.
The fire was one week before Christmas in 2013, and we were able to move back in late October 2014.  Although this time frame was slightly outside of the original estimate, it was not considered unreasonable given the nature of the work and the change orders. After we moved in, the provider has done a nice job on following up any problem areas and punch list items.
We are very happy with our "new" home and are confident that the provider will continue to stand behind the work.  The overall job turned out much better than we could have expected.  Lew and George Merryfield, and their staff, particularly Tom Ferry, Sean, and Scott, were always respectful and friendly, and took obvious pride in their crafts.  In conclusion, we are glad we selected Merryfield Construction Group and would not hesitate to use them again in the future or recommend them to others."
