"There's not enough positive words to describe the excellent job that Brent and his team from Buckeye State Roofing did with our insurance job roof replacement. From the moment that we met Brent you could tell that he was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and passionate about his roofing business. We knew instantly that our roof, which desperately needed replaced, would be in good hands and that we would have peace of mind throughout the job/process based on Brent's knowledge and his ability to explain every detail so that we could easily understand it. Fast forward and upon calling, Brent came out and was very courteous while respecting all social distancing aspects while he inspected our roof for wind and hail damage. Brent took several photos of the damage displayed and explained what was wrong with each photo, then proceeded to explain the insurance process should we decide to file a claim and choose Buckeye State Roofing to handle the job. At this point the decision was ours to file an insurance claim, which was an easy one based on the photo evidence Brent provided combined with his desire to help with any/all interactions with our insurance company for a full replacement. After submitting a claim to our insurance carrier (Farmers), Brent proceeded to return for a second inspection to ensure all evidence of damage was gathered to submit the best possible report to our carrier for approval. The claim was approved instantly and the job was scheduled 2-3 weeks out. During scheduling and as indicated in advance, the crew would be onsite and working by 7AM, to which they showed up at 6:40, prepped all job site details, and started work at 7AM precisely. Throughout the job the crew was very professional and worked extremely hard from 7AM until the job was finished at approximately 2PM, including cleanup. They did an excellent job at maintaining a clean debris free environment throughout the job and cleanup at the end made it look like a roofing crew wasn't even on-site that day. All shingles and debris were cleaned up within the yard and flower beds and they proceeded to use a magnetic roller to clean-up any miscellaneous metal and nails from the grass and yard. We were extremely pleased with the professionalism of the crew and the outcome of the entire process that we wanted to share our review in the event that it helps someone else decide between Buckeye State Roofing vs. a competitor. "A-1 Superior Home Improvement, Travis Workman. We highly recommend this business. All work we required was completed. Our sister’s metal roof was painted ensuring a number of years of use without problems. Our gutters were cleaned and most important out siding was replaced that was damaged by a tree a number of years ago. We had sought out other service providers to repair the siding, but no one ever followed up. Most house siding is 4” but ours is 4 ½”, harder to find. Travis and his wife made calls and search to find siding that would work on our house. While it took a little time, they did not give up. After a number of years of tattered siding, thanks to their efforts, our house siding is renewed."

"Here's the good, the bad and the ugly. Bob spent a lot of time answering my questions and was very thorough on the initial consultation. Pricing was comprable to three other estimates I received during that time but wasn't the lowest. Here's the good: We decided to go with a pre-selected shingle that wasn't in stock with Bob's suppliers but he did find a local supplier that had just enough on hand at the last minute. He passed along only the small upcharge for the more expensive shingle. Installation quality seems descent. Shingle overhang is nice and even and visually looks very neat. Bob said he would give us extra winterguard rapping on the back edge of roof for no extra cost due to the amount of soffit overhang. I was especially impressed when his team supervisor actually fixed a problem caused by the previous roofer repair and did not charge me for it. The bad: 1. After a long wait time to begin work I seem to keep getting longer, there was another two-week start delayed due to the supervisor having problems with his truck. During this time the weather turning cold and icy. 2. I asked Bob if he would supervise the job but he said he is not on the job sites but that I can trust his team supervisor who has been with him for over 20 years. So I did. When I came home from work one day the waste dumpster was parked right in front of my garage doors. Someone assumed that I would not need to get in and out of the garage. That was a very bad assumption because my wife is a fall risk and needs to park inside the garage. This was in December and the driveway was becoming icy. The dumpster was moved promptly to the proper spot but no one contacted me to ask me where I wanted it located in the first place. 3. During installation Bob and I walked around to look at the progress and I noticed the roof paper was torn on a corner of the garage. He said his team would make it right before shingling over it. The Ugly. On the final walk-through Bob told me that a deck railing post cap was damaged from his team's work. This was not a big deal and the post cap was only $10. But he did not have the damaged cap nor was it found anywhere. I think his team threw it away. More likely this was a diversion for much more damaged railing that I did not find until the spring because the snow was falling during the final walk through. See the attached pictures. There are scratches, scuff marks, and tar marks on three six foot spans of railing that were not there before. My neck is relatively new. The scratches and scuff marks on the railing match the angle at which they threw off old pieces of shingle that hit the railing. I sent the pictures to Bob along with the itemized replacement cost of all the railing pieces. Total was $174. This was the first week in April when the snow and ice was finally all gone and I was out on the deck and noticed it. To date Bob has not responded. Just be aware of what you're getting into with this contractor and if you're willing to risk the bad and the ugly for the good. I will not recommend Northeast Ohio Renovations to any of my friends or relatives. That's a big price to pay for $174."

It’s a great family business with a lot of experience between the sons and their father and their father’s father! I felt like I could trust them and I knew they weren’t lying to me or just trying to sell me something extra. Already speaking to them regarding additional projects. It’s very hard to find someone you feel comfortable with but these guys gave me that feeling."
