"Had flooring put in last week. Love it. The color is great and exactly what we needed. Linda did a great job helping us chose the product and had the installation scheduled promptly. The installers arrived on time and completed the job in a friendly and professional manner. I will be using Yancey’s again for all my flooring needs. Totally recommend them for all your flooring needs."

"Incredibly well! Very happy with everything: from selecting the actual flooring; to placing a special order; to the final installation. Selecting Creative Carpet was the best choice we could've made, and second only to the floor we had installed. It's beautiful!!! :)"

"I visited Tudor Floors at their Silhavy Road location where they have a huge selection of carpet and other flooring to suit every budget. Took me five minutes to choose exactly what I wanted, good quality carpet at a fair price. A day or so later owner Mauri came to my home to measure, explain the installation procedure and answer any questions. <br /> Installation was arranged approximately two weeks later. The installation team of two brothers arrived exactly as scheduled, worked really well together, removed the old carpet, checked and cleaned the floor underneath and installed the new carpet. They worked hard, fast and professionally and took the smelly old carpet with them to re-cycle. <br /> I had to actually tone down this review in case readers thought I had some personal connection to Tudor Floors - none. <br /> I chose them after careful consideration, research and review of other companies. They do a good job and deserve their reputation. <br />"

"We wanted to keep our business local, which led us to check out Ed Whitcomb. When we first went in, they set up for Ed to come measure the areas we were considering so we would know what price range we were looking at before we started picking materials. Ed was prompt in coming and doing the measurements. We then went in and he helped us match the bamboo to what we already had in other parts of our house. He also helped us pick the carpet we wanted for our living room. We had looked at the cost of everything and originally weren't going to do the master bed due to the size of the room and the cost. Ed then showed us a "short roll" of carpet that ended up costing 1/2 as much as the other carpet we had seen. In the end we chose to have the master done as well because it was such a good deal. They came out and in 3 days had installed all the bamboo and carpet. It looks gorgeous! We are very pleased."

"I went to the store a couple of times and discussed what I thought I wanted, my likes and dislikes. They had me take samples home. A few days later one of the owners came and measured. He took the samples back. I went back to the store a day or so later to look at other samples. Found one that was perfect. (They're awfully patient with you.) <br /> We scheduled for the 20th. The two young men who came were very professional and courteous. They did an excellent job. <br /> It was so great to have someone in your house that you feel you can absolutely trust. I know they have a great reputation, and I understand why. <br />"

"Recently Creative Carpet & Flooring of Highland, IN installed hardwood flooring for us and what a beautiful job it was! The flooring completely transformed the entire upper level of our home. We had the pleasure of working with Steve at CC&F. Steve was very knowledgable, honest and especially patient with me with regard to all my questions and visits to the store. The installers were professional and worked efficiently and diligently. My family and I had minimal disruption during the entire project which was nice especially since the kids were still in school at the time of the install. We would not hesitate to recommend Creative Carpet & Flooring to family and friends. Thank you Steve and Creative Carpet & Flooring!!"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Hobart, IN

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
