"We had water loss in our house. In addition to the restoration work, we decided to do a broader remodel at the same time. We actually hired a different company that promised to make our house all new again, but we had a lot of delays and communication issues, and ultimately walked away from that company. We had already moved into temporary housing for the remodel, and needed another contractor to step in quickly. Johnson and Sons rose to the occasion and were able to get us back into our house quicker than the first company would have. Our remodel was basically the whole house. Floors, interior paint, all 3 bathrooms and the kitchen. The price was competitive. The timeline was good. The communication was outstanding, which was very important to us. Vic was always available to answer questions and proactive in letting us know what was going on. Jon and Tony were patient and willing to make adjustments as requested. We did discover an issue based on a previous contractor's faulty work, but Vic was quick to explain the situation and give us options and prices. We would definitely recommend them to others."

"I called this company to get a quote for a bathroom remodel. Ben was scheduled to come on site and give me a quote. I felt very comfortable with the quote and Ben. They did a great job on my bathroom finishes and plans a head. I even remodel my kitchen afterwards with them, Ben is very professional and responsive who made this process very easy. "We called Vic Steiner and we liked that he was a one-person business, explained our project and asked him to give us a bid. He gave us a few options, and presented us with a detailed bid, which we thought was very reasonable. He estimated the job would take about 4 days and we could tell he really knew his craft. He kept us informed daily what his plan was for each day. The job entailed re-positioning a set of double-doors, framing, sheet rocking, mudding and taping the stair encasement wall for paint ready, trim for a single door, the double doors, a new set of folding doors for a laundry area and a lighting circuit with 3-way switches. "We had another contractor turn a room that was tacked on to the back of our house in the 1930's into a laundry and half bath. That project went way, way over budget, so I stopped before the siding was put on.
Enter GMG Construction. I had bought an Angie's list deal, and after considering two other projects decided to use the deal to finish the exterior of the room (which was covered with roofing shingles)
GMG responded, indicating the work could be done within the labor I had already purchased, plus materials. I am glad I listened to their advice about siding. They recommended, and installed, lapped Hardie siding. The person who did the work clearly had done a lot of siding work before, and he took pains to do a really nice job.
The project went very well, completed in the time estimated.
GMG went above and beyond and carried the siding all the way down to ground level (partly below an existing deck). Additional flashing was installed and they even bolted a corner of the deck that had warped (Not part of the project but a very nice surprise)
And they finished a part of the underside of this room (which spans the stairs to the scary basement).
The siding looks great even though I have not gotten around to painting it. The primer color is pretty close to the paint color we already had.
All that said, it was a great experience and I am looking forward to using GMG for future projects (as I can afford them, aren't old houses just so much fun??)
