"This was our first time remodeling and it went amazingly well. We are super happy with our decision to hire Dean Alfonsi to do our work. I got several estimates before beginning and Dean's was not the cheapest, but he was also not the most expensive. We wanted someone who could do it all at a high quality and a fair price, and someone we could trust in our home while we worked. They were completely trustworthy and very neat. His wife Suzanne was also involved behind the scenes and was a fantastic communicator. She kept us updated and was the go-between when we needed to communicate about the work. Before the work started, we also got a quote for our kitchen remodel. We are definitely going to hire Dean to do the kitchen as soon as we pay off the money for this first stage of our home improvement projects. Flooring We picked out a rather expensive flooring, which I know brought the price a little higher than normal. We had approximately 1000 square feet of new flooring installed throughout most of our house. It looks amazing! They had to remove tile from the kitchen and entryway and hired an outside company to do the work. Dean wasn't happy with some of the ridges left behind under the tile, but he handled it like a champ. We probably wouldn't even have known there had been an issue except we were off from work those days and saw him handle and correct the situation. He smoothed out the floor until he was satisfied that the new planks would lay perfectly. Moulding We had the moulding removed and new moulding installed. This also looks really sharp! One thing to note about Dean's responsiveness - unfortunately we changed our mind after the moulding went up in our office. We asked Dean to remove the moulding from one wall so we could install a new wall unit flush against the wall. We offered to pay him something for the extra time, but they did not ask for more money. Drywall repair Part of the cost included some minor-ish drywall repair to our ceiling indoors and a little bit outside on our porch. Dean and his crew repaired all this. We're very happy because we know he put in some extra effort on our porch as the damage was greater than expected. Interior Painting We had about 1100 square feet painted in 4 different colors. They also painted the interior doors AND the ceilings. The kitchen needed to be textured, so they did that before they painted. This was all agreed upon and included in the quote. We had a couple dark area with dark paint that required multiple coats of paint and one room required 3 coats. They didn't specify in the quote how many coats the price included, but did tell us that they would make sure our walls got as many coats as needed. It looks very professional and they obviously took a lot of time and effort into completing the work. As the work was coming to an end, we asked for another estimate to re-grout our bathrooms and the area behind our kitchen sink and asked them to hang 6 canvas prints in the living room for a gallery wall. I placed cut out paper on the wall where each print should go with instructions for the work while I was away. I also asked that they not follow my cut out papers too closely since they were a little crooked and unevenly spaced. The gallery wall was done on the last day and was the finishing touch to a beautiful job! My only hesitation when I was first gathering estimates was that some of the other businesses had a huge number of positive reviews and Alfonsi did not have AS many. They made a really good impression and I loved that a local husband and wife team worked together in a family business and quickly decided to go with them for the work. We made a great decision and now we know who do go to for any home improvement project. They can do it all."

"This is a great company to have work in your home. We had water damage and mold from a roof leak and our public adjuster recommended 1-800-DryMeOut. I am so glad that we took his advice and hired them. Their work is meticulous and all the employees that came to our home were very professional and courteous. They were careful with my property and belongings. They installed dust protection throughout my home. They showed up on time, cleaned up after themselves daily, and offered helpful advice on how to proceed with the insurance claim and the remodel work. Their work was top notch! I would definitely recommend 1-800-DryMeOut! Joe and Steve were especially great to work with!"

"Robin of New Image Tile, Inc and his helper, who do the tiling for Joe's Carpeting, did the most beautiful job of laying, matching and grouting our floors. They sealed and leveled the cement floor. Robin aligned the tile in a way that harmoniously met our existing tiles. You would really have to study the tiling to know that each tile is not unique and one of a kind. The sealing compound came amixed with the grout. We have had the tile down 1 month with all looking as new. We use a dustmop most of the time. Occasionally, we vacuum and use a steam mop. The tile is refreshing to my bare feet; it is not cold and forbidding for walking around. We are loving our choice and the artful work done. Joe's staff were helpful and let us bring tile home to make a decision."

"The company was very easy to deal with.  They came out right away and measured.  Had a second team measure to to ensure the measurements were correct.  The carpet came in but there was a large section of mold.  They had to order more carpet and located the same die lot.  The carpet looks wonderful.  The installers were very professional and prompt.  Will use again - for sure! <br /> <br /> <br />"

"As anyone with a motorhome knows, the carpets fade and discolor very badly. We were provided with an estimate over the phone from Color Your Carpet. The final price was within the range quoted. They arrived promptly at the specified appointment time. After a brief discussion about what color I wanted, they mixed up a color that was exactly what I was looking for! They were done quickly and we are VERY happy with the results! My 10 year old RV carpet looks almost like new, for a fraction of what replacing it would have cost. I highly recommend Rich and Color Your Carpet! <br /> <br />"

"We had a little hiccup at the start we had a high reading on the moisture level. So we needed to dry the floor out for a day just to be sure. They put a moisture barrier layer down then flooring! Douglas Boudreaux was my sales representative. He was wonderful. He called the day of installation and came buy to see how everything was going. He called a few days after installation to make sure I was happy with the results. This was my third time using Empire flooring."

"Two men arrived on time to do the installation. The older fellow was the installer and the other one was his helper. The installer did most of the work putting the tile down and the helper did some finish work around the edges. His workmanship was not as professional as the other mans. I had just painted all the baseboards a week prior, in anticipation of the new flooring being installed and after the helper finished his part of the job I noticed he had scuffed up the new paint in several places. The next day I had to touch up the paint. Other than that problem ,everything went according to plan. The floors look great and the product quality was as good as they said it would be. They finished the job when they said, and did not leave a mess when they left. <br />"

"<p>They started in bedroom and ran out of materials and he (owner Randy) claimed it was not his fault, even though he did the measuring.  He actually looked at me like I was going to pick up the $500 or $600 difference in the measuring mistake.  He then quoted me a price to do the Dining Room and Den which I had not fully decided to do up to that point.  The price he gave me was the same price he had quoted me in the beginning (before the measuring mistake) when we were considering doing all 3-rooms?   We decided to add the dining room and den at that point once I saw the actual floor down in the bedroom.  Then, we had to wait weeks with the bedroom and closets half emptied out and scattered in different places while waiting for balance of the floor for the bedroom to come in.  Once the floor came in Randy and his crew finished the bedroom, dining room and den.  They were going to leave and I said that I wanted the floor done that day.  He said 'Oh, we were going to give you a break'   I knew if they left it would be a mess I would have to deal with again - whenever he would get around to coming back - and I just wanted it finished.  When they finished that day, I asked Randy about the trim being too high in the dining room where the floor around the dining room touched up against the tile leading into the kitchen, foyer areas and he said it needed to <strong>settle</strong>.  Waited couple weeks for it to <strong>settle</strong> and called him telling him that it was still too high and need to be adjusted.  He personally called me and made an appointment that he later denied making.  He missed the appt.  Total no show.  Devon, from his office, called me prior to the appt to schedule an appt and I told Devon that Randy already called me and made an appt.  Never heard back from anyone and Randy never showed up.  He did, however, show up the Sat before the scheduled appt, unannounced, and said he would be back, he spoke with my husband who was surprised to see him.  Finally, weeks later, he sent two men out to finish the job on 4/22/15.  They had to remove the entire trim, then glue and trim with a saw to make it fit the way it should have been done the first time.  Funny, it seemed to need no <strong>settling</strong> this time.  Seems to me he wanted to leave early the day of the install and did a hurry-up job on the trim with the <strong>'settling'</strong> excuse..  Again, we had to wait weeks for the job to be finished.  Very unprofessional in my opinion, and when I brought up the missed appt, he (Randy) had an attitude and did not want to talk about it and even denied making it!  He flat out made the appt and lied about it - PERIOD!  I will admit, the actual floor does look great and they did a good job installing it, except for the time it took and the trim situation.  I found him on Angie's List and used him because of that reason but will never use him again or recommend him.</p> <p>FLOOR WAS ORDERED 1/20/15</p> <p>INSTALL STARTED 2/20/15 (ran out of materials)</p> <p>INSTALL COMPLETED (except for trim situation referenced above) 3/18/15</p> <p>TRIM FINISHED 4/22/25<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Trim finishing was not right once I notice a hole in the baseboard that was not there before and two edges are not lined up.  Called him around 4/23rd and he said he would be out when he is in the area... to date (5/6/15) he has not been here.</p> <p>Would never use this company again.  <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /></p> <p> </p> <br />"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Homosassa, FL

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
