"Everything went well.  They were very professional and quite knowledgeable, and they even let me return after store hours to bring back some samples that they had given me.  The only issue was that they didn't carry the kind of carpet that we wanted.  Specifically, they didn't have SmartStrand mohawk carpet."

"Bob is a very personable man, but he influenced my husband to buy a type <br /> of carpet that I wasn't crazy about and after it was installed, I saw <br /> that it is the type that shows every footprint and looks very out of <br /> date.  :(  He also saves money by piecing the carpet together which <br /> leaves visible seams all over the place (which he said would become less <br /> noticeable over time, but I don't like seeing them.)  Also, his <br /> installers only had to move a few pieces of furniture and they asked for <br /> $50 extra and they left a huge mess and black marks and finger prints <br /> all over the doors.  Can't wait to eventually replace all this carpet <br /> with wood! <br /> <br /> Update 8/1/2013: <br /> <br /> The seams are still very noticeable!  One year later, you can still very easily see all the seams everywhere.  UGH!"

"My kitchen counter-tops are beautiful granite. Extra care was taken to grout the back-splash area to keep the bricks in their natural state. The job was completed much quicker than what we thought it would be and we love it."

"One or two appointments were 'forgotten; carpet samples we selected were ordered by salesman in timely fashion.  We changed our minds color wise and salesman cheerfully ordered new sample swatches. We selected carpets for MBR and LR - LR was back-ordered; installer couldn't cut and bind a 14 foot circle - his equipment was limited to 10 foot circle; he ordered equipment extension and then, after it arrived, was able to cut and bind our 14 foot diameter carpet.  The job was well done but long time in coming.  If I was a salesman, I would know capabilities of my fabricators - not find out after the carpet has arrived and have to wait till equipment extension arrived. <br /> W to W carpet installed in Master BR - good job - one little seam showing (about 3 inches) in bedroom to closet.  May resolve itself by people walking on it. <br /> The "price" rating is subjective - we did not go through a list of potential providers. <br /> We were not kept informed as I think we should have been - re vacation of salesman; back-order of carpet - we did find out about the delays by calling. <br /> No followup by salesman to see if carpet and installations were satisfactory. <br /> People have said they like the L.R. carpet - and we do too,and we like the MBR as well. <br /> Though the above says we'd use provider again, and that may be true, but not before checking Angie's List and other providers. <br />"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Hot-Springs-National-Park, AR

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
