"We could not have been happier with Mike and his entire team! Before the remodel, we read a lot about how remodels are almost always over budget and/or don't finish on time. This project was on time, on budget, and we are thrilled with the results. Mike is very responsive when we had questions, kept us up to date on progress, and was ready with options if a problem would arise. Mike's team found some structural issues in the breezeway remodel that were not apparent before demolition and when he contacted me with the bad news, he already had several options, estimated costs, and had consulted with the city inspector to ensure the options would work. He was on top of things throughout the remodel. Mike is very professional himself, and he has a great group of people working with him. They did a good job keeping the space clean at the end of the day, respecting our living space, and paying attention to quality workmanship. His pricing was comparable to the other contractors that provided bids, but he really put in the up-front work to ensure the project would go smoothly, and it did. "The entire roof was done in one day. I was satisfied with the workmanship. Except for the flashing around the chimney - which was subsequently redone w/o any hassle. The gutter covers (LEAFPROOF brand) were installed after the roof. I was concerned that they may not handle a large amount of rain, but we had a torrential downpour shortly after and they worked great! I should have had these installed years ago - no more cleaning out the gutters. Our neighbors also had LEAFPROOF installed (also by Lakewoods) about 10 yrs ago and have never had a problem or needed the gutters cleaned out. Roof: $10,000 Leafproof gutter covers: $3400"

"I will call this “The Good, The Bad and the Ugly review” as I am breaking this review into the 3 teams that we had – 2 very good and done quickly and 1 inferior with the most time spent at our house – thus the overall 3 star grade. The Good • Roofing Team – Grade: A. Efficient, good job, found virtually no nails or roofing materials on the ground • Gutters – Grade: A. One man crew but he knew what he was doing and provided good suggestions for modifying our water flow. The Bad • Siding & Window Team – Grade: C to D. Not sure how they were trained but they didn’t seem to understand some common construction basics. A few of the many examples – o They nailed the siding on wrong and had to start over. o They almost ripped the 120V electrical outlet off the house without turning off the breaker but it was the weekend and we happened to be in the garden and saw them. o Installed the dryer vent wrong twice – once painting it shut and the next time putting on a vent with a label on it saying “not for use with clothes dryers” due to the pre-installed screen. The Ugly • Siding & Window Team – Used caulk as touch up paint on LP Smartside (or just used the siding to clean off their dirty fingers?) – leaving random “chicken pox marks” all over new siding. Garage, driveway and all 4 sides of our house were filled with equipment and garbage for the length of the project. Not the crew to have if you have children or pets – they left old saw blades and other sharp objects around the garage entrance and the house. I didn’t expect a spotless home every night but I didn’t expect to be living with this much disarray with minimal clean up each night, even after asking the supervisor to improve pickup of at least garbage and sharp objects in the garage and the common walking paths. Nor did we expect to be spending our fall cleaning caulk off the “maintenance free” siding and re-painting it and installing our outside boxes correctly. I will give the owner credit for realizing that his siding and window crew did inferior work and giving us a discount on our bill. None-the-less, I am rating the services provided based on the quality of the work done."

"Excellent! We ended up having an entire bay window area rebuilt and about a third of our deck replaced due to dry rot. We had to have this work completed before we could have our new windows installed. The crew and the project manager did a fantastic job considering the unexpected circumstances of having a dry rot problem. Everyone on the crew worked hard to finish the project in order to accommodate our schedule. The work done was superb! High quality! The work crew was a joy to work with. It's just that it's too cold to do the windows so they were very glad that they are going to do it later or else they would climb the roof. My overall experience with them is good.
