"Tony was the only one to promptly return my call when a pipe had sprung a leak one evening. Tony returned my call that same evening and gave me a quote as to cost and said he would try to come by the end of week. Came when he said he would. Very reliable and efficient and most importantly honest. Been hard to find someone who could recommend a trustworthy plumber. He gave me a fair price and stuck with it. The other company who returned my call the next day could not come until the next week and quoted me a price twice as much. Tony was very busy but upon understanding my predicament came to my home ahead of a project he was involved in and was here the next morning and efficiently repaired it and only charged fifteen over quote as a different pipe was needed than how I had described it on the phone and he had to go and get it at a warehouse - only charged me the difference in price not for the extra trip to get it. "After some heavy rain we had water in a corner of the basement. I contacted Randy for an estimate. He arrived promptly and was very knowledge about our problem and how to fix it. He also had some suggestions on landscaping. He provided an estimate on the spot which was less than we expected. He also provides a guarnetee that his fix will solve the problem.
His crew showed up the next week (very quick response time from estimate to work completion). There were about 5 people doing the work under Randy's supervision. It took them about 3 hours to do the work. They also inspected and tested the sump pump to make sure it was in working condition.
After the work is complete Randy sent a written guarentee as promised.
Since the work was completed we have had some heavy rainfall (about 3 inches) and the basement is dry as a bone.

"My water heater was broken and Standard Plumbing was the first to return my phone call. It had broken on Christmas Day (Friday) and I had left messages for a number of companies. They were able to schedule me on Monday. The person they sent out was on time and professional. I was a little irritated that he wouldn't even walk over to the water heater until I had agreed to pay about $160 to diagnose the problem. Since I had been told on the phone that the service fee was around $60 and I had clearly told them that the water heater was broken, I wished they had told me that it would really be $160. The plumber spent a lot of time trying to diagnose the problem and then told me that I needed to replace some parts - total cost $525 for parts and labor (that would be the total charge - the $160 was included in the $525). I had to go back to work so I told the plumber to call me when he had it fixed. A few hours later, I received a call from the owner saying that the parts they replaced didn't fix the problem and they didn't know what was wrong. They put everything back the way it was, told me they wouldn't charge me anything at all (really nice surprise) and gave me the number of a specialist that they had already contacted in advance to see how soon the specialist could come out. If they had been able to fix my water heater at the $525, I would have given them mediocre ratings, but how they handled it when they couldn't fix it was really impressive. The specialist came out the next day and had it fixed in less than an hour."
