I chose to work in this industry because I was always interested in electrical, and was offered to enroll in an apprenticeship program with my first electric company in Nashville, TN. It was mostly a commercial company. There I gained lots of valuable knowledge. After graduating from the 4 year trade school I became a foreman. Then moved back to Dallas TX to work for a residential service company. I also enjoyed this aspect of electrical. There is more troubleshooting involved. The owner of this company taught me a lot and we still keep in touch. Then I moved to North Carolina to pursue my own business. I can do most commercial and residential projects. "I do much of my own electrical work. In this case, it was repair of an in-wall oven. When I pulled it out I was surprised we had not had an electrical fire; the prior installation did not shield the wiring and, in fact, exposed the insulation to abrasion plus it had direct contact between aluminum and copper wires On short notice I made a service appointment for which Brian was on time. He un-did then re-did the wiring (240V 40 amp circuit) quickly and in accordance with code. Afterward I checked and rechecked my own work; at the same time I found no issues with Brianâ s work.
