"I decided to purchase the Big Deal because my AC unit seemed to be rattling.  The noise was intermittent but it was worrisome. 
UMC Appliance Repair Co. arrived a little late but they called to say they were delayed on a previous job. When they arrived, I told the technician about the noise.  After inspecting the unit, he say that the condenser coil was extremely dirty and he recommended an acid wash.  He asked when the unit had last been serviced.  Since it had been a while since I had had a basic service, I told him to go ahead.  He also said I was a little low on freon so I told him to top it off.  These services added an extra $310 to the Angie's Big Deal.
The AC unit is on the roof.  The technician assured me that the acid wash would not hurt the roof or the plants in my yard.  In order to avoid future acid washes, he recommended servicing the unit 2 times a year. 
The air conditioner is running quietly and efficiently now.  I was unhappy with my old AC service so I will certainly use UMC Appliance Repair in the future.

"All went well, the tech was an older gentleman,, he had a huge backpack filled with essential tools and completed the install in about 20 mins. Fairly professional, though he did put his heavy backpack on our concrete counters, I put a towel down to cushion the bag and avoid scratching.

"Larry is the consummate pro. He's like the Holmes on Holmes of appliance repair. My most recent job (I have used him for 3 years) is the first time he was stumped by one of my appliances. The first solution he thought would work didn't, but then he was at the ready, ordering the correct parts as quickly as possible (My oven is older and harder to get parts for on the fly) and even offering to cover the costs of the first round of parts since they weren't the correct solution. He got it fixed in time for Holiday Entertaining and did it with a smile and a "Merry Christmas".
This is the guy you want coming to your home and fixing what's wrong. He won't make you fix something that isn't broken, he will tell you if it makes more sense to buy something new instead of profiting from fixing your clunker, and if it takes a little longer or comes at an unusual time, he doesn't jack up his prices.

"John was available to start the work on a Friday afternoon. He installed the new outlet competently and completely. However, John made three trips to Home Depot to pick up supplies. The store is only 2 miles from my house and the first trip took over an hour. He needed to come back the following morning to complete the work because he needed two longer screws. "Patrick responded to our call immediately, and came out the same day. He selected and obtained the hot water heater and the other materials, and came back that day to replace it. It took him more than six hours. In two days, we noticed a very bad leak where the pipes from the water heater entered the house. Patrick came right out to look at it and repaired it. He was finished late in the afternoon, when we noticed that another leak had appeared further down the line under the house. At this point, we decided that we should have the house re-piped with copper. Patrick gave us an estimate of dollars and time. We decided to go with another Angie's list provider who has had more experience in re-piping and whose price was lower. Patrick was very professional and thorough. He let us know what he was doing as he went along. We might have him again if he adjusts his price. It is really too high. Overall, I was willing to pay more because he took care of both the problems immediately."
