"Contractor called back immediately and scheduled an appointment with a good lead time. Service tech arrived within 2 hr window and repaired our wall heater with no issues and finished the work within 30 min. Checked the thermostat and verified with us present that the unit was functioning. Good guys. Would highly recommend them and if necessary, will use them again."

"I had a really great experience with TCW. We had a plumbing emergency in the middle of the night, and they were still willing to come out to help. It?s not easy finding companies that respond that quickly after hours, so I was really relieved they were available. The owner himself showed up quickly, he was professional and got straight to work figuring out the problem. I really appreciated how responsive and reliable they were. AMAZING SERVICE would hire again!"

FAQs for window a/c unit service or relocation projects in Huntington Park, CA

If your window air conditioner is relatively new or of high quality, repairing it can restore optimal performance and protect your investment. However, for older units or those with ongoing issues, it might be more cost-effective to replace the unit to ensure long-term efficiency and reliability. Consider the unit's age, the severity of the problem, repair costs versus replacement, and energy efficiency ratings when making your decision. If repairs cost more than half the price of a new unit, replacement is typically the better option.

Window air conditioners last eight to ten years on average. After this time, you may notice decreased efficiency and component wear. Replacing an older unit can improve energy savings and provide updated features like remote controls and better overall performance. With proper maintenance including regular filter cleaning, coil checks, and professional servicing, you can maximize your unit's lifespan.

If your portable AC isn't cooling, it might have a refrigerant leak or a circuit malfunction that's preventing it from working properly. It's best to contact a local air conditioner contractor to inspect and repair the unit. If your AC is older and repairs don't fix the issue, replacing it might be the most effective solution.

Removing a wall-mounted AC costs $55 to $75. Completing the removal yourself at the end of each summer season, being sure to do so according to proper guidelines, keeps you within this cost range. Should you require professional assistance for removal and disposal, if you can't move the unit yourself, expect an added fee of $25 to $50 to the overall cost.
