"<p>it was superb! they easiest, hassle free Radon test in town, with extremely proficient people -- very knowledgeable and very people-friendly! they took their time to explain things on the phone to me before I committed. the test came back within 10 days or so -- via email. which is very convenient. it was very clear as it is, but I like talking through it and get advice. they were instantly available to discuss. they gave me future tips to keep on top of all things Radon related. </p> <p>I have to say that all this comes to be after 3 months of many back and forths with 3 other companies -- none of the other companies could be bothered to schedule a time, and those who did, never showed up.. many times over. I don't know why I was so patient with them and I wish had discovered Environmental Testing & Research Laboratories much sooner.</p> <p>Really highly recommend them!</p> <br />"

"Fuller did everything right with this visit. I called the call service at 7:30am and was called back at 8:20am. The plumber arrived in 10 minutes and was able to identify, locate, and fix the problem in a little over an hour. I was able to use the Angie's List coupon as well and received $20 off of my total bill for a total cost of $69. I have no complaints and I would recommend Fuller to anyone."

"We had a radon test done to the house we bought by our home inspector. The radon levels averaged 10 pCi/L, peaked at about 20 pCi/L (above 4 pCi/L is considered dangerous). In negotiations, the previous owners got a quote from Environmental Concepts Unlimited agreed to make an escrow account with money for us to install a radon mitigation system. As soon as we moved in, we called and scheduled for them to come out to install the system a week later. Chad Campbell, the owner of the company, and his wife showed up when scheduled and completed the work in about 3 hours. The final price was exactly as he had quoted. He installed the fan inside the garage and piped the vent through the exterior wall and up to the chimney line. He left us with a mail-in radon test by a third party to test if the mitigation worked. We tested the next weekend, and the average radon level dropped to 1.4 pCi/L. He has a 3 year warranty on all of his work as well as the fan he installed. The system has been running for about a month now with no problems. They were professional, and left the site cleaner than they found it. <br />"

"Quick and efficient job. I interviewed 5 different companies in my area to stabilize and level the floor above our crawl space. '58 Foundations was not the cheapest and they were not the most expensive. They were chosen because they went above and beyond my expectations when I was actively looking for a solution to my problem of sagging joists. The initial estimator Bill S. took his time to make sure all our questions and concerns were addressed and DID NOT use high pressure techniques to try to get our business. Finally, when the job started Zeke the foreman and his assistant Andrew arrived on time each day and kept me updated with the status of the job in a timely manner, I most highly recommend you use this company when you have issues with your floors and crawlspaces."

"<p>   Our house failed inspection during a home purchase and I immediately called Allen at Allied Crawlspace Solutions who showed up the next day, identified the problem, offered a solution and provided a quote.  Initially he asked for $4100 because he had to drill through some extended footers.  We asked him for his best price and he lowered it to $3550. </p> <p>  Once contracted the crew showed up the next day and was immediately met with some challenges because as it turned out there were 8 footers to bust through versus the 4 he had originally quoted.  He never asked for anymore money.</p> <p>   They completed the work in 6 days.  They said it normally takes 2 days, but the footers caused a huge delay.  They also spent an additional 2 days doing nothing but replacing the vapor barrier and cleaning up under the house.  They did a fantastic job!  The sump pump that was installed with the EZ flow is working flawlessly and I can tell an immediate difference in the fact that we now have now water under the house.  That is remarkable considering there was standing water 6 days ago.  </p> <p>   I am very satisfied with the work.  The team all had a great attitude and were very patient with me as I asked questions and made recommendations on cleaning up.  </p> <p>Although it was an expensive repair it was worth every penny!  Strongly recommend these guys!!</p> <br />"

FAQs for radon gas testing projects in Huntland, TN

Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the U.S. The gas seeps through cracks in foundations and collects in basements and other low areas. Once you breathe it in, radioactive particles lodge in lung tissue and do long-term damage. Because you can’t see or smell radon, the EPA recommends testing your home every two years—and after major renovations—to keep your family safe.

Yes—every home should be tested. The EPA advises doing it at least every two years and any time you remodel, buy, or sell. On average, one in 15 houses nationwide sits above the recommended limit, and the only way to know where yours stands is a formal test. The equipment simply measures gas levels and won’t change your indoor environment, so the process is completely harmless.

Certified radon professionals—often home inspectors or dedicated radon mitigation contractors—handle testing. These radon testing professionals follow EPA protocols and use calibrated instruments to check levels throughout your house. Hiring a certified radon specialist means results you can trust for real estate deals, insurance requirements, and, most importantly, your family’s health.

Inspectors specialize in measuring radon gas levels, while licensed mitigation contractors design and install the systems that remove it. If your test comes back high, your inspector can point you to a qualified mitigation pro who will size and install the right fan, piping, or other equipment to bring levels down.

No—standard home air purifiers don’t touch radon. They’re built to trap dust and pollen, not radioactive gas. If testing shows high levels, you’ll need a dedicated mitigation system that vents the gas from beneath your home to the outdoors. Relying on a room purifier alone won’t keep your indoor air safe.

Opening a few windows in your home might dilute radon for a short time, but the gas seeps back in as soon as they’re closed. For a lasting fix, you’ll need a professional mitigation system—often a sub-slab depressurization fan—that pulls radon from beneath the foundation and safely vents it outside.
