"B&C Irrigation installed a sprinkler system in my front yard, prepared the yard for sod, and laid zorro zoysia sod. It took them two days to complete the work. Overall, I'd say I was pleased with their work. The sod was gorgeous, and the sprinkler system seems to be doing a fair job. However, after one year, I'm still not able to turn on the sprinklers only one time per week (as they said I would), but I have to water every other day (an hour in each zone). There is one area that dries out every other day, and adjusting the spray pattern doesn't help (and I have made numerous attempts). I am an engineer who has designed and laid his own sprinkler system in Florida, so it is not like I don't know what I am doing. I don't think they prepared the yard as well as they should have, and there were a number of sod pieces that were obviously defected and should not have been laid. There was 10% excess sod, so there were plenty of good sod pieces that could have been used. They wanted me to pay for the excess sod too (that wasn't laid and they took it with them), but, in the end, I did get some (not full) compensation for the excess sod. Be sure to discuss how they will handle the excess sod before you give them a job like this. There were some communication issues too. For instance, I ordered a fertilizer system to be installed, but they didn't have the parts during installation, so it didn't get installed. A number of times I called to get some technical information after the installation, but no one was available and when the call was returned, it wasn't from an "expert" but from the receptionist. These guys are not cheap, but I went with them because of their superior track record. I just thought they could have done a better job in communicating. It wasn't as if they weren't nice (they were very nice), but they need to have some technical people available to answer questions."

"Jake took out a tree, regraded the whole back yard (we have narrow side yards and Jake was the only landscaper we called who said he could get equipment back there without going through the neighbors yard and tearing out part of the fence). He put in a pretty rock border, redesigned a flower bed and put in Zoysia sod that everyone else said was too hard to get. And he even fixed the sprinkler system! He was very professional, prompt, and hard-working. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Will call him again when we decide to put in that flagstone patio!!"
