"We have a 1/2 acre lot.  Although the large grass backyard was very attractive it was not very usable as it sloped away.  So we had a limited use yard, a small patio that could only comfortably handle about 4 people.  Additionally we were paying for watering and lawn service with no real return.  We decided that it would be a better use of the area if we extended the patio.  We also thought that it wold be too much concrete so we decided to put a Bocce court in the lower level.  That gives us much more use of the area.
Our back yard is beautiful and everyone that has been there to visit and/or play Bocce has agreed.  The people that did the work were professional, friendly and respectful.  We feel like we have new friends.
During the construction, we would be apprised of issues and given a choice of solutions.  Most of the time these were no-cost changes.  Their costs were almost always what they estimated.  Most of the cost increases came from my wife and I saying things like "while you at it..." or "can you also build...."
When they did not feel completely comfortable with an issue (E.g., they changed a 220 volt line into 2 separate fused 110 volt lines with switches and outlets), they told us so and asked our permission to bring in a subcontractor (and electrician) to assure that everything was done correctly and to code.  They told us this during the design process.
When things were not done to our expectations, they redid them.  A month after the job was done we saw grass growing through an area where the grass was removed, weed barrier installed and covered with mulch.  When we called, they came out to see and agreed that it should not have happened and are now in the process of redoing that area.  Great follow up!

"David is professional and very nice. He takes the time to explain everything and I felt he was trust worthy from the start. Our grass is now the greenest on the block, all the black and brown widows appear to have vanished, weeds are gone, and have even seen a reduction in the rat activity. He's a great supplement to our regular gardeners who seem to be basically just "mow and go". David brings his previous experience maintaining golf courses and commercial properties to excel in the residential setting. Furthermore, he is responsible about the application of chemicals - he actually decided to come back another day to complete the service because it was windy and he did not want chemicals flying all over the place, especially knowing our daughter plays in the yard. Nice guy and great service!

"They did a wonderful job. They showed up kind of late. That is one of the things I had a problem with. They were kind of late getting here, and when they were supposed to come back because they had to order a part and the day the gentleman said he was going to get here, he actually did not. He showed up two days later. So, that is the only thing I would blame them on. They are not very prompt. They did an awesome job with the quality of the job, but with their untimeliness and I thought it was kind of unprofessional that if you are going to tell me that you are going to be here on a Monday and you do not show up until Wednesday evening, that to me does not speak well. They responded via phone. They are really nice people just that they are not professional. I would still use them because they have great price, really nice people, and did a fantastic job."

FAQs for lawn and garden sprinkler system installation projects in Independence, CA

While drip irrigation systems have higher upfront costs, they can save you money in the long run. By delivering water directly into the soil with minimal evaporation and runoff, drip irrigation systems conserve water and improve efficiency. This means better performance and results for your landscaping, and cost savings over the system's lifespan.

Yes, irrigation systems can add value to your home, especially when installed with high-quality materials and a solid design. A well-irrigated landscape enhances curb appeal and can attract potential buyers. However, poor design or installation may reduce performance and even decrease your property's value. Hiring an expert for installation and performing regular maintenance is key to securing the long-term benefits.

A local irrigation professional can help you check your drip irrigation system to make sure it's in good shape. You'll want to make sure the water pressure is in a good range, repair any leaks as soon as possible, and cover the cost to winterize your sprinkler system as recommended by your irrigation contractor.

A drip irrigation system lasts between 10 and 15 years. This lifespan is determined by the quality of materials, the precision of installation, and regular professional maintenance. Unlike traditional sprinkler systems that can last up to 50 years, the thinner piping used in drip systems is more sensitive to UV exposure and environmental wear. Proper upkeep and timely repairs enhance durability and ensure consistent irrigation performance.

Drip irrigation is best suited for plant beds, containers, greenhouses, and row crops. It supplies water directly to individual plants, ensuring precise moisture control where it is needed most. For areas with simple layouts, above-ground systems work efficiently, while subsurface installations may be cost-prohibitive in spaces with extensive tree roots or irregular terrain. Proper planning maximizes the benefits of drip irrigation across a variety of applications.
