Beautiful craftsmanship and work. On final walk through I pointed out a couple minor things I noticed that needed attention. Very nitpicking of me. "On a Sunday evening (8PM), I found that my basement was starting to flood. Water soaked into 60% of basement carpet at the time of discovery, so I am lucky to have caught it in the early stages. Mowery answered promptly and had a technician at my home within an hour. I could not have been happier with the responsiveness and punctuality of the company. The technician explained the problems with the previous system's setup thoroughly and detailed how his installation would fix those issues. I appreciated the time he took to do this. The reason I only gave this experience a C was because of the ridiculous price of the pumps they installed. Mowery installs PHCC Pro Series brand pumps, which from what I can see from online reviews are a decent and reliable brand. I was given two options for primary pump installation: a "normal" pump and a "premium" pump. I chose the premium option because it came with an system monitor and would audibly alarm if the power went out. This option was offered around $900. Unfortunately, one google search showed me that the pump retails for around $230 at multiple sources. That is a 390% price inflation. Yikes. That made my wallet sad and made me wish I had done some research before buying. The technician did not have a battery backup system to install on that Sunday, so he quoted me for the future work: $1900 for parts and labor. Knowing the upcharge on the primary pump system, I began to shop around online for price comparison. The battery backup option they quoted for was the premium system (PHCC Pro Series 2400). Once again, a google search provided me with a baseline cost for the pump and battery: $500 for pump; $270 for battery. Excluding the $350 labor cost, thats an price inflation of 201%, or $784. I ended up buying the pump and battery online and paying the installation fee. I saved 40%, about $800. I could have saved much more if I had been diligent about the primary pump. Overall, the quality of the work was great. The technicians were great. The response to our emercency was great. But the pricing of their products is ridiculously high. Customers that do not do their research will end up spending much more than needed. I understand that it is a business, but nearly 400% upcharge...c'mon man."
