"Not one asphalt companies ever contacted me and just one company came out to measure and forgot about me thereafter. But as to KE sealcoating, they came out when they said they would and have me a start date and did above what I had expected. Their price was exactly on budget. I was immensely impressed with their professionalism. I would recommend them to anyone. Top notch company. I’ve now had 2 projects from angys list that proved to be invaluable."

"We chose LG Dirtbusters to do our project, based on reliability, professionalism, reasonable estimate, and previous reviews on Angie’s List. Loren Purcell and his crew came on time every day, and worked well as a team to get the work done. Kept us informed during project, and were very professional. They removed an old crush run/gravel driveway, and our old block patio, and installed a beautiful new and larger concrete patio and driveway. They removed a lot of old shrubbery, and removed and disposed of an old fence and big shrubs along the fence line. Loren was very knowledgeable, and was able to give good suggestions to help with our planning of the project. This company is honest- the crew accidentally bumped an outside water faucet during foundation plants removal, causing a water leak, which they accepted responsibility for and paid plumber for repair. Loren did an excellent job in ensuring there was proper drainage on the patio to keep water away from the house foundation, and there is no longer any pooling of water on the patio or driveway. We are very happy with the results, quality of work is excellent, and would rehire."

"After reviewing our situation CFS recommended we contact a brick mason to rebuild the support columns.  His conclusion was that it would not be a good investment to utilize their services for the repair I needed.  He also surveyed our fireplace and attached porch and noted potential areas to keep and eye on. <br /> No pressure at all to contract for services, he was very knowledgeable and professional.  He provided good background information for us to understand what had caused the problems (ground settling) and how to monitor for future changes. <br /> While we did not contract with CFS I would not hesitate to recommend them or use them in the future. <br />"

"It was a rainy time and I had vacations planned, so there was a lot of scheduling and canceling due to weather. But the company was good about calling with changing days. Also cleaned up everything and no hidden costs <br />"

"Great! I cannot say enough good things about this paving contractor. Contractor was reasonable Contract signed with terms set out and all terms carried out perfectly. This company was very professional in every sense of the word. Dorrel communicated with us all during the process as far as our approval and if we had any concerns. After work was done, cleanup was performed and work area left clean. We are so thankful that we hired a company that not only did quality work but really wanted to do the work exactly as we wanted. I would highly recommend this company."

FAQs for asphalt paving installation projects in Irmo, SC

Most driveways wrap up in roughly a week. Allow two to three days for installation, followed by an additional two to three days for the surface to cure. Concrete and asphalt follow this timeline, whereas a gravel job often finishes more quickly. Laying out the schedule upfront makes it easier to plan your week and your budget.

Sealer prevents water, salt, and UV rays from damaging the surface. Apply a fresh coat every one to three years, and you’ll slow down the growth of cracks, avoid pricey repairs, and keep the driveway looking sharp. A local professional can handle the job efficiently and ensure even coverage.

Material is the significant driver when it comes to the lifespan of a driveway. Asphalt stays strong for about 20 years, concrete lasts 30 to 40 years, and paver stones can last 50 to 100 years because you can swap out damaged bricks. With regular top-ups, a gravel drive can also reach the century mark. Knowing these timelines helps you map out long-term maintenance and replacement costs.

Repaving strips everything down and starts fresh, letting you change the layout or improve drainage before pouring new material. Resurfacing, on the other hand, adds a top layer over a solid base, giving you a facelift without the need for a complete demolition. Go with repaving when the base is failing; choose resurfacing when the structure is sound and you just need a new surface.
