"First, let me state that Mr. Olmos did a very high quality job on our sofa and ottoman.  He did not follow our instructions completely (e.g. the back cushions were attached even though we asked that they be left loose) but we are still satisfied with the quality of the work. <br /> When we first contacted him for an estimate, it took a little while for us to find a time for him to come over, but once we agreed on a time, he arrived right on schedule.  When he gave us the quote, I was a little shocked at how high it was, but he did not try any 'high pressure' tactics.  He simply said it was up to us if we wanted to do it.  We decided to save money by buying fabric ourselves, but even the, the cost was higher than a new sofa would have been.  Just be aware of that before you decide to reupholster.  <br /> However, overall I was not happy with my dealings with Mr. Olmos.  It seemed to take quite a bit longer than we were expecting to have the work done, but we weren't in a huge hurry so that wasn't critical.  My major complaint had to do with a $75 pick-up and delivery charge that my wife and I feel like was 'tacked on' without much notice. When we originally talked to Mr. Olmos, we asked if he would pick up and deliver the furniture and he said they would, but he didn't mention a charge.  When he gave us the estimate, he didn't mention the charge. When we paid the deposit, the delivery charge was added to the bottom of the receipt but neither of us noticed it at the time. <br /> Our furniture was finally returned and we paid for the rest of the work.  Only after the delivery guys left did we notice the delivery charge on the receipt.  The next day, I called Mr. Olmos to say I thought we were charged incorrectly for the delivery.  Mr. Olmos said it was a normal charge, but he immediately agreed to refund the charge. <br /> If he had actually paid the $75 it would have ended there and I would be writing him a much more favorable review.  Unfortunately, the check never came. After about 10 days, my wife sent him a follow-up email, which he never replied to.  Finally, after a moth with no word, I called him again to say we still hadn't received my check. <br /> He argued with me on the phone and kept telling me to find my original 'yellow' receipt from when they picked up the sofa and not the 'white' receipt from when they delivered it.  I said that may be true but the fact was he agreed to refund that charge and he had not.  He tried to make me put my wife on the phone (I suppose so he could argue with her) but I refused.  He finally agreed to send me the delivery charge but we were quite unhappy with each other when we hung up. <br /> I finally dug through 2 months of old receipts and found the original 'yellow' receipt.  He was right that it was on that receipt (although, as I said, neither of us remember it being there when we got the original estimate).  However at that point, I was totally disgusted with dealing with him.  I called him back to say that he did not have to send me the $75 since the charge was on the 'yellow' receipt, but I would write up the whole story on Angie's List and he was certainly welcome to write up his side. <br /> I have no doubt that Mr. Olmos is an honest man, but I cannot recommend him.  <br /> <br />"

"We recently had the good fortune of working with Sandy Grimes from Decorator’s Delight, in November, on new draperies, bedspread and upholstery for our master bedroom. Sandy brought many ideal samples to our home and was very patient in helping up select the right fabric. She took perfect measurements and made great recommendations on the style of both the draperies and bedspread. The results were amazing! Our bedroom has been completely transformed. We wish we had done this years ago, but we are very happy to have had it done. In addition to our bedroom, we had an old ottoman reupholstered. We had looked for years for someone to do this and Sandy had excellent fabrics and finishing notions to choose from. We give Sandy our highest recommendation for her expertise and great service."

"Absolutely fantastic service - could not have asked for more. Ann was friendly, knowledgeable, patient, and had literally thousands of upholstery samples available to choose from. Once we settled on a particular upholstery (which took almost an hour!), she quoted us a price and lead time (4 weeks). We left the chair with her, and it was ready exactly on schedule. Not only was the workmanship top-notch, but she also took the time to polish out some fairly major scratches in the wood legs, so the chair looked brand-new when complete. Given the price, this isn't a place to get your $200 velvet recliner redone, but instead it is someplace that provides top-quality work that should easily last another 50 years or more. Perfect for heirloom and high-end furniture that you want to show off. Would use her again in a heartbeat - by far the best upholstery shop in the Dallas area!"
