"Overall it was a very pleasant experience.   My Design Consultant was Kerilynn.  Keri came out to my house and listened to what my likes and dislikes were and to what my decorating problems were.   Keri brought me swatches of patterns that matched my likes and even brought one that she thought would work that I hadn't thought of before.  It worked perfectly.  I ordered the rug and they placed it in the living room and it looks great.   <br />   <br /> Keri knew her product and was very pleasant to work with.  She called after the area rug was installed to make sure I like it.   I have another rug to get and already told Keri I will be contacting her about it."

"From start to finish, each person I dealt with was friendly, helpful, and most importantly, knowledgeable. There was no pressure to buy. The salesmen helped me make an informed decision. ( Choosing the right brand of carpet was overwhelming at first.) They knew a tremendous amount about the materials they were selling, and only appeared to sell the best quality carpets and flooring. When ready to buy, they worked with my schedule. They even allowed me to paint the floors with BINS in between taking out the old carpets and installing the new ones. The installers were friendly, worked fast, and were on time. It was obvious that they were well practiced at installing carpets. There prices were competitive. I paid exactly what they quoted me for. There were no hidden costs. The carpets look great in my home. I was very pleased with the job they did."

"The service was excellent. All appointments were kept on a timely basis. There was an issue with the flooring in the entryway that the installers identified. They made an adjustment to the contract on the spot since we couldn't get the type of flooring we requested in that area. We had originally wanted to carpet over some hardwood flooring, but the sales rep recommended against it and recommended refinishing the floors instead. This will result in a huge savings for us."

"Our purple carpet had about 100 urine stains from previous dogs and our own. The specialist, Robert, matched to color and treated every spot. If we didn't know where they were, we'd never know they spots had been there. Perfect job!"

"Excellent company !  I have used the services and products of Strand's On The Floor for years. Good variety of product both tile and carpet; tile being vinyl or the like and carpets galore. Strand's On The Floor are professional and polite. A company unlike any other, in a positive way, whereby their consultative comments are helpful and they're hands-on service is exemplary. I know my comments may seem over-the-top but that's what Strand's On The Floor is. Give them a try !  <br /> <br /> Strands, Bob & Eydie, also have have a lighting store, kitchen & bathroom cabinetry, and bathroom accessories via their Bluff Ridge Marketplace complex. You'll be pleasantly surprised with what they and their stores, service, etc. can provide. I've been pleased with them all these years and am a returning customer to them."

"Gary the owner arrived when promised. He was very nice and professional. He went above and beyond of what was expected. <br /> The carpet is 13 years old and was last cleaned by us {the owners) 3 years ago. So needless to say it was really getting grungy and matted on the stairs and hallway. <br /> Gary went over our stairs about 4  times to get the worked in dirt. They now look wonderful and I'm not embarrassed any more about our carpeting. <br />   <br /> I would recommend this company to anyone! <br />"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Jefferson, WI

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
