"<p>Wooden Hammer provided exceptional service in all aspects of our home improvements by providing an exemplary combination of artisan craftsman skills with 21st century professionalism.    Ben provided us with excellent advice in planning our improvements by suggesting additional options we hadn't previously considered, including a beautiful fine wood cabinet built into a living room wall that other contractors said was not possible.   He provided numerous other custom solutions, adjustments and fixes in response to the unanticipated realities that come with any major home improvement effort. <br /> We were on a tight budget to update our new house, so were very pleased that Ben complements his ample craftsman skills with professional project management.  He diligently managed the project schedule, and was always available via email, phone, SMS, making it much easier to successfully juggle work commitments, daycare, etc. and not feel like we were living in a construction zone.   He suggested several cost saving options and was genuinely interested in helping us get the most out of our money.  <br /> On several occasions, Ben sent real time photo updates on unexpected work (due to rot in the house) that allowed me to review and approve repairs without taking time off from work to go back to the site.   When the schedule began to slip due to delays from suppliers, Ben brought in a crew that allowed him to focus his time on the skilled finish work and still keep the project on schedule and on budget.    Wooden Hammer provided detailed invoices regularly so we could easily track progress against payments. <br /> Any major home improvement project will have numerous curve balls.  Ben routinely hits them out of the park, and does it in a way that lets you enjoy being part of the game.      </p> 408"

He communicated to me in advance if there was any change in schedule and everything went as we discussed before. "First, let me say that Alex (the company owner) and his team at Salem Home Improvement provided, unequivocally, the best experience we've had with a home improvement/repair company. Work done: We had a full bathroom that needed a complete renovation (completely gutted, walls and floor). The room was gutted. New walls and floor installed. New fixtures installed (tub, sink, toilet, vanity, lighting). New door and frame installed. Wood trim in many places, and new baseboard installed. New tile installed on floor and wall. Painting. I may have missed something as there were so many details. Performance of work: At the time we signed the contract, Alex told us the project would be done in 6-8 days. It was completed in 6. Alex and his team are the most diligent and hardworking that we have seen. Alex was on site every day. They arrived on time every day, and worked a minimum of 8 hours each day. One day they worked for 12 hours. We were amazed at what was accomplished in 6 days! Quality of work: Excellent. Especially considering the variety of tasks involved. They paid very close attention to detail. The result is a beautiful, brand-new bathroom, beyond even what we thought it would be. Work Environment: Alex and his team are good people. They are polite, kind, and respectful. They obviously enjoy what they are doing, which is good for them and the customer! It's apparent that Alex cares deeply about his work, and wanted to ensure we were happy and had no reservations with the final result. A P.S.: A minor adjustment needed to be made to the tub faucet (this was discovered a day or so after the work was completed). I contacted Alex to ask for the correct size of the tool to make the adjustment. Unasked, Alex came to the house in the evening and made the adjustment. I suspect that he did this after his workday was done and I envision him trying to relax for the next day. I know this took over an hour of his time. We would hire Salem Home Improvement again, with no hesitation, and will recommend them to others if the occasion arises."

"Sam was prompt, highly skilled, and could not have been more courteous. Repairing the existing mailbox was a temporary solution. As soon as the ground unfreezes, Sam will return and re-site the new mailbox stand and boxes. I'm looking forward to working with him again."

"He never came back when he said that he would. He did build the cricket and it is okay. We were a little disappointed in the workmanship. He was going to come back when the weather was better. Our chimney fell down and he did some of the roof work for it. I didn't contact him when he didn't come back."

"Overall our experience with Cedar Creek was very good. Roofing was completed in one day with workmanship and clean-up being excellent. Communication would be the only area with room for slight improvement as both the estimate and the work were completed at times that were not expected. That said, the roofing was completed on a day that we thought supplies were being dropped at our home, so it was ahead of what we had expected - a welcome surprise! <br />"
