"We hired Rich and Toni to pressure wash and paint our front steps/stoop, back deck and railings. We had another company to do this about three years ago, and within a year there were bare spots, peeling and a lot of mildew. Once we observed the process that Rich and Toni used to complete the job (wash, sand, paint, sand, paintâ ¦) it was clear why there was a huge discrepancy between the first companyâ s results and the outcome of the Barefoot Painters! Once we saw the results of their outdoor work, we asked Toni and Rich about repainting our kitchen cabinets. We originally thought we would have to reface the doors (they had a coating on them that had yellowed over the years, and they looked very old and tired.) They assured us that refinishing the cabinets would make them look brand new. They took off the 20 cabinet doors to refinish at home, then came back to work on the boxes. Without us asking, they also painted the backs of the doors, inside the drawers, and bought/replaced all of the hinges, and put buffers of the doors and drawers. The cabinets look brand new! I canâ t say enough about the friendliness, thoroughness, reliability and honesty of this company! The pricing was very reasonable, they made sure our house was clean every day when they left, and they were clear in any communication. Rich and Toni are meticulous in their work, making sure everything meets their high standards. We already have plans to use them in the future!"

"Charles Rhoden and his team were awesome. When he came to look at the work to be done, I couldn't believe my eyes when he put on something to cover up his clothes and he was into the crawl space in a matter of seconds, closely inspecting the foundation under 2 bathrooms. I believe it was primarily the sills that needed replacing under both bathrooms, as well as a number of other smaller things under the bathroom. There was one primary worker on my job & he was great. He showed up on time several days in a row, worked steadily and was very professional. The one day he couldn't be on the job, he let me know the day before that he had a doctor's appointment the next day. No problem. The work was completed on time, on budget and I was very happy with the work done. <br /> I was getting ready to go to graduate school and had to move out of town. <br /> My house had been converted into a duplex and there was a big area of the floor sagging right in the front entrance of the rental unit. I contacted Charles and he took care of things. Because I didn't have the money to have the job done as it should be done, Charles had a worker come over to stabilize the problem. He poured a concrete base that would support 2"x 6" supports that, with one end on the concrete, they went up and supported plywood. The sub-flooring had rotted out due to water damage. the plywood was placed directly under the sub-flooring / floor and the 2" x 6" supports were put in place on a solid concrete base and the other end was against the plywood. Charles CHARGED ME NOTHING, at all. I couldn't believe it. He said to just think of him the next time I needed any type of foundation work done again. <br /> Charles Rhoden and his team were excellent. The work came in on time, on budget and was done right. What more could you ask for? And then, he charged me nothing for a smaller job, a temporary support that lasted a good 7 or 8 years, when I renovated the house and this part of the sub-flooring was fixed. <br />"

"Luke is extremely professional and the service that he provided was timely and well done. He communicates well and we always knew when our work was going to start and finish. Afterwards he communicated with us concerning the job and whether or not we had any concerns or were pleased with the job. If we had had some issues he would have immediately come to fix them but we were very satisfied with the job. I would recommend Luke’s service to anybody."

FAQs for doors (interior) installation and replacement projects in Jekyll Island, GA

If your existing frame is in good shape, you can replace an interior door without changing the frame. This is a budget-friendly option because it saves on the cost of removing and installing a new frame. By choosing a slab door that fits your current frame, you'll save on labor and materials. Just make sure the new door matches the old one's dimensions for a smooth replacement.

Standard interior doors are 80 inches tall and range from 28 to 32 inches wide. Interior doors vary from 24 to 36 inches wide, depending on their purpose and the available space. Building codes require interior doors to be at least 80 inches tall and 24 inches wide. Knowing standard sizes helps you select a new door that fits properly in your existing opening.

It costs $600 to $2,000 or more to move an inside door. The total price depends on your location, the type of door, and materials needed to complete the project. Moving an interior door requires walling up the leftover space and opening up a new wall where you want the door to go instead. You’ll also want to plan for the expense of framing the new wall opening and adding trim.

Exterior door installation costs an average of $1,175, with a typical range of $525 to $1,800. The higher expense compared to the cost of interior doors comes from the need for exterior doors to be weather-proofed and they are often made of thicker, more durable materials. The associated exterior hardware must also be able to withstand harsh weather, so these cost more as well.

It costs between $300 to $2,500 to make a doorway wider on average. However, the wider you need the space to be, the more it will cost. Some homeowners choose to widen interior doorways to make the house more wheelchair accessible. In order to be wheelchair accessible, an interior door needs to be at least 32 to 36 inches wide. Also, some older homes just have narrow doorways due to the nature of how homes were built differently many decades ago.

It takes between two to five hours for a professional door installer to install an interior door, depending on complexity and materials. A pre-hung door typically takes around two hours, and larger doors like double French doors can take up to five hours. If you’re doing the project yourself, expect it to take a little longer than that, especially if you have little to no experience completing this type of project. Keep in mind that a pre-hung door can be installed about an hour or two faster than a slab door.
