"I had Service Today! complete two separate projects for me. First, I had an ice dam fall on my A/C condenser last winter and needed repair/replacement for an insurance claim. Second, I replaced my old water heater and boiler with a new combined tankless boiler & water heater unit. This involved complete repiping in the basement since I was also moving the mechanicals as part of a basement renovation. It was a large and complicated project, and ServiceToday! was awesome. Like I said, it was pretty complicated and their team was always professional, friendly, courteous, and took pride in their work. I also love that they are diligent about calling 20-30 minutes before arrival so I don't have to sit at home waiting during a 2-hour window like I've frequently done with other service providers. Also, the latter project was an expensive one ($20k+) but their pricing was competitive and fair, and they have great financing options available. Would 100% use them again."

"We were unaware of an extra-large build-up of lint in our dryer.  The lint eventually caught fire and we had a small fire inside our dryer.  Fortunately, the fire did not spread and nothing was damaged except for the dryer.  We called SOS to see if the dryer could be repaired -- we were thinking it would need to be replaced.  The technician came out, inspected the dryer and told us it could definitely be salvaged.  We were thrilled.  He worked on the dryer immediately, but had to schedule the vent cleaning a few days later.  However, we were not charged until the vent cleaning was completed.  SOS provided me with one of the best experiences I have had with a repair company.  I was thrilled with the end result!"

They showed up exactly on time.  They had a challenging task of replacing a faucet assembly that was rusted in place, with a faucet that I had purchased.  They were in an out in less than .5 hours.  They were extremely professional and considerate as I was working on the floor directly below them.  A piece that was installed cam loose a few days later, and they were there in a few hours to make sure it was repaired.  It has been three months and all is great.  It was a tough job - as they had to bust out the old faucet, but they stuck to their original Angie's List advertised price.

"I must admit that WE DO have an Extended Service Contract in place with Sears Home Improvement on our TRANE 3-ton a/c - heat unit, which is why we paid "zero".  We did purchase this unit from SEARS.   NEVERtheless, the service I received on the telephone making the appointment was stellar, polite and accurate.  The repairman did call when he was about 1/2 hour away from arriving at our home.  The repair was done, in a short time, not a penny was charged, and we are very happy!  We've actually called for service 4x during the life of this 2-year Serice Contract (most for seasonal cleanings and "check-ups), and each time we were met with professionalism, timeliness, a smiling face, and a very knowledgeable repair representative.
BUT we did not always have a service contract in place, and we have other items (which we have also purchased from Sears) for which we have no contract.  Each time we needed service, our experience has been the same - quick, accurate, professional and able to work the visit into a convenient time frame for US!  Prices without a contract are pretty darned close to other repair companies, and we feel comfortable and confident using Sears, a company that has been around for well over a hundred years - that alone tells a success story!!  Typically, we are not proponents of extended Service Contracts, but we are glad to have had one on this particular important/costly purchase.  We are up for renewal in May, and our check will be in the mail within a week!"

"Called GCM on a Tuesday morning, and receptionist said someone would get back to me in 6 or 7 days-??! I moved on to the next call for an estimate and forgot about them.  Did get a CB a week later, so scheduled an appt. Spoke with Greg initially, but Ben came out.
Ben was very nice and professional, and took off his shoes which I appreciated. The bid was for a 27k rehab loan thru the County, for electrical, plumbing, windows, patio door and misc.
Ben had to stop by a week or two later to pick up an addendum to the loan (more repairs to add),  as their fax matching was down at the office (and the woman who answered the phone was crabby with me).
Overall bid was within $2k of the 3 other bids, but strangely very high on some items, and really low on others. Due to the fact that my loan amount could not change and the bid had to be right on, I was not concerned about this, and chose not to go with them."
