"Nick LaFlamme removed the wall-to-wall carpeting and pad and spent a few hours preparing the underlayment (re-working the many nails/screws that were sticking up and sanding so that the finished floor would be level) on the first day. On days 2-4 he installed the new flooring and either replaced the existing baseboards or re-cut and installed new ones. I really appreciate Nick's attention to detail, particularly the "extras" that one can't see (such as the work required on the underlayment to ensure a level floor) and replacing existing pieced baseboards with single lengths when the material to do so was readily available. He also hauled away (to Habitat for Humanity?) the carpeting that was removed. In my opinion, Nick's work demonstrates the value of paying a professional to do a job, rather than DIY by amatuers. I expect these wood floors to be level and look good 15 years from now."

"All was going great until they didn't order the windows on time. I had a deadline for a huge gathering at my home and I was assured it would be met. After not hearing from them about an install date after all the measuring was complete I called and the install department let it slip that they didn't get ordered on time. She said it was probably an error in the computer and she would find out and call me back. She never did. I finally got a call about an install date from the contractor and it was a week after our gathering. I called the install department again to let them know I was upset and was told I would get a discount after the install. The guy there said he would call and see if they could move the appointment up. He never called back. When the windows were delivered I had no idea they were on the way, they called 20 minutes before delivery. I was home so that was ok. They REALLY need to work on following up and COMMUNICATION."

"Excellent job.  Very good quality of workmanship.  Sales associate was polite and responsive to our requests.  Installation crew was timely and worked hard to complete the installation in one day, including redoing the major seam because the carpet was not lying and joining properly.  The result is that the long 25 ft. seam is undetectable.  The job included cutting out a large section of the old carpet (virtually unwalked upon in 8 years) and padding and installing it in a large walk-in closet.  This latter task was performed with care and quality workmanship. <br />"

Home Depot  didn't have enough of the size we started with. Best Construction was able to make the switch to a different size in an area where it wasn't noticeable. Make sure when purchasing tile when the lot numbers are different it may be a different size due to chinese machinery changeover in the production. The size on the box said it was the same but it was 1/16 inch difference."
