"I purchased the  Buy It Now on Angie's List for two hours of "handyman work" for $77.  Howard's business is located over an hour away from my home, so before I placed the order, I called to confirm that 1. he services my area, 2. the job was not too big for the Buy It Now offer, and 3. that the job could be achieved in the 2-hour window allotted in the offer or that he could offer me an estimate of services of it went over.
His response was prompt and YES, he would come to my area.  And YES, this job, or any other job, was a good fit for the deal he offered.  And YES he thought the job would fit in the window, but if it required more time, it was a very affordable rate.  My responsibility was to purchase the materials he needed (i.e. the ladder and material for another project we discussed) before he arrived.
Howard contacted me the night before he was scheduled to come out so that he could confirm the work that needed to be done and confirm our appointment time.  I gave him a short wish list of jobs to be accomplished, but realistically I only expected the attic ladder to be done in the timeframe allotted.  
On the morning of the job, Howard arrived a few minutes early, which was fantastic for me!  He quickly assessed the jobs I'd laid out, then got to work on the demo and installation of the attic steps.  He had all of the tools he needed as well as the nails, screws, shims, etc. that the installation required.  he realized that the ladder I purchased was slightly narrower than the existing ladder, and using lumber I had at the house (a 10 foot long 2x6) he framed the opening so that the ladder properly and securely fit.
The installation was completed in just over the 2-hour window, but he didn't charge me for the difference.  The installation was quick and met my expectations.  I feel that I, or anyone who uses the new ladder, will be safe when going into the attic.
