"I contacted N. Chasen and Son to replace our shutters. While working on the quote for the shutters via email, a wind storm tore some trim off our house, so I asked if they could include that as part of the work (as well as replacing some siding and a louver). They sent someone out the next week to check the shutter dimensions and determine what was needed for the trim, siding, and louver. They suggested repainting the louvers instead of replacing, and sent me a quote for all the work and to get it scheduled. On the scheduled date, Marcus was on time and very friendly. He walked me through everything they were going to do and explained that the shutters were on backorder and would be in later in the week, but he replaced the trim and painted one of the louvers (he needed a longer ladder for the second). He had to return a few times to finish the work, but he made sure it was all completed and the quality is fantastic. I'm very pleased with my experience with N. Chasen and Son and will definitely hire again when I have need."

"I hired Alan to replace a badly deteriorated garage floor and to install a parking pad next to the garage off an alley. When he came to the site to give the estimate he also pointed out some failed mortar joints and significant stair-step cracking along the rear wall. In all, he and his crew repaired multiple sections of old mortar and replaced a rusty lintel; removed the old concrete garage floor; prepared the garage and exterior parking pad, removing dirt and a tree; formed up the new 18x18 garage floor and 20x20 parking pad, with a 4' apron; and poured the new concrete with appropriate finishes. I am absolutely thrilled with the finished product. Alan and his crew were a delight to work with. He clearly communicated changes in plans to work around weather and set expectations on scheduling and how long it would be before the concrete would be ready to be parked on. The site was left clean and neat at the end of each day, and the substantial, unavoidable disruption of the alley was repaired at the end of each day to make it presentable and drivable. No damage was done to my property or neighboring properties. I expected the initial estimate to be significantly higher, yet Alan committed to it, and the only small changes were due to additional work I requested while they were there. I could not be happier with how this project came together, and Alan was a delight to work with. I have several other smaller projects planned over the next few years and hope I'll be able to use him for those, as well!"

"Sent request through Angies list and got a prompt reply. Steve was friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. He provided a quote and design for 3 closets and we ended up going with 2. Decided to not proceed with the 3rd closet because my vision for it wasn't clear. The installers were also prompt, friendly and efficient. While it is a lot of money, the bottom line is I don't have the time to do this, nor do I have the experience to do it efficiently. As a busy family, I found the experience to be delightful. I opted for a very practical product/application. I love the end result and would not hesitate to use method again for other closets in the future. <br />"

"On his first job in my home, he replaced a dryer vent hose, replaced 3 toilet seats, and replaced weather stripping on my garage door. He diagnosed the problem with my bathtub drain and bifold doors falling off their track. I purchased the kit necessary to repair the bathtub drain and new bifolds (since you can only get the hardware by buying new doors).So, on the second job ($88 coupon) he installed the bathtub drain and the track for the new doors. On the third job (no coupon) he removed 2 inches of cabinet above my stove to install my new microwave the recommended 18" height above the stove. Once again, the cost of the job was reasonable. The owner responded to our phone call quickly and the work started on time. He also stopped by to look over everything as the work was being done and to see if we had any questions. "Larry returned my call right away and we scheduled an appointment for the following week.  He arrived with an assistant, right on time.  It took him just a few minutes to assess the problem - they had installed it too close to the actual front door.  He was off to buy supplies and returned in a short while to take down and re-hang the storm door. <br /> The hinge that closes the door on the top was, at that  point, hanging off so I assumed he'd need to replace it.  I mentioned this to him thinking that he would need to buy a new one while he was picking up supplies.  No problem, he said, we can fix that with what we have :-). <br /> They finished the job in an hour or two, were very professional and did a beautiful job.  The door closes perfectly every time - in fact, we'd gotten so used to a door that "hangs" open it occasionally whacks me from behind because it closes so quickly.  This is a good problem to have.  We just have to get used to a door that works the way it is supposed to! <br /> I would, <strong><em>and will</em></strong>, call Larry again for any household "fix-it" jobs.  I highly recommend him!! <br /> Thanks Larry! <br />"
