"I contacted N. Chasen and Son to replace our shutters. While working on the quote for the shutters via email, a wind storm tore some trim off our house, so I asked if they could include that as part of the work (as well as replacing some siding and a louver). They sent someone out the next week to check the shutter dimensions and determine what was needed for the trim, siding, and louver. They suggested repainting the louvers instead of replacing, and sent me a quote for all the work and to get it scheduled. On the scheduled date, Marcus was on time and very friendly. He walked me through everything they were going to do and explained that the shutters were on backorder and would be in later in the week, but he replaced the trim and painted one of the louvers (he needed a longer ladder for the second). He had to return a few times to finish the work, but he made sure it was all completed and the quality is fantastic. I'm very pleased with my experience with N. Chasen and Son and will definitely hire again when I have need."

The owner is a very personable individual that was quick to response to my initial email to setup a time for a quote. We needed to get the steps and the sidewalk installed prior to Christmas; as we have a handicap family member coming and it was difficult for her to get into the house. "Sent request through Angies list and got a prompt reply. Steve was friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. He provided a quote and design for 3 closets and we ended up going with 2. Decided to not proceed with the 3rd closet because my vision for it wasn't clear. The installers were also prompt, friendly and efficient. While it is a lot of money, the bottom line is I don't have the time to do this, nor do I have the experience to do it efficiently. As a busy family, I found the experience to be delightful. He was professional, flexible and easy to work with. <br /> The only thing I would note is that the deal said they would do patching. They mean very small patching, so keep that in mind. We had three holes 4x4 though 2 x8 inches and they would not patch those. So I assume by patching they mean nail holes. <br />"

"Larry returned my call right away and we scheduled an appointment for the following week.  He arrived with an assistant, right on time.  It took him just a few minutes to assess the problem - they had installed it too close to the actual front door.  He was off to buy supplies and returned in a short while to take down and re-hang the storm door. <br /> The hinge that closes the door on the top was, at that  point, hanging off so I assumed he'd need to replace it.  I mentioned this to him thinking that he would need to buy a new one while he was picking up supplies.  No problem, he said, we can fix that with what we have :-). <br /> They finished the job in an hour or two, were very professional and did a beautiful job.  The door closes perfectly every time - in fact, we'd gotten so used to a door that "hangs" open it occasionally whacks me from behind because it closes so quickly.  This is a good problem to have.  We just have to get used to a door that works the way it is supposed to! <br /> I would, <strong><em>and will</em></strong>, call Larry again for any household "fix-it" jobs.  I highly recommend him!! <br /> Thanks Larry! <br />"
