"Our experience with New Leaf Construction in December led us back to hiring them again for a few additional projects we wanted completed outside this spring. The remodel of our firm over the winter was very successful and it was a pleasure to work with their crew. Their professionalism showed throughout the entirety of the project, from the quality of their work, sensitivity to our timeline, accommodating the needs of our business with as little interruption as possible, cleanliness of their work area, attention to detail, and staying on budget. I highly recommend New Leaf Construction."

"Ben and crew were wonderful and so easy to work with. I can be a very indecisive person at times and not once did I feel like that was an issue. Ben worked very hard to turn our ideas into reality while also sharing his own to create such a warm and inviting space. I would highly recommend Hitchcock & Co!"

"Horrible Job! This outfit changed their appointment times at least five times before actually starting the job. They blew cellulose insulation into our east bedroom attic, but had complete disregard for the mess they created. They ran the discharge hose up through an open ceiling hatch with no attempt at sealing the opening. As a result, cellulose debris & dust was EVERYWHERE! It took my wife and me several hours of vacuuming, washing items, shaking out blankets and rugs, and serious dusting to get the spaces back somewhat civilized."

FAQs for major home repair (general contractor) projects in Kingfield, ME

In many cases, it’s much less expensive to convert a bus than to buy an RV, especially if you’re considering a newer RV model, which can exceed $100,000.

Another huge benefit of school bus conversion is that you are in control of the renovation project. You get to pick your camper's new layout and all the appliances and furniture.

While school buses can easily cost $300,000 when they're new, you can often find used buses for just a few thousand dollars. These vehicles experience extreme depreciation due to government regulations; they can only be used for so long before they must be replaced. Due to those same regulations, other government agencies cannot purchase them for their own uses, so the consumer market is the only place they can go.

The length of time it takes to convert a bus depends on the scope of the project (and size of the bus), how much work is DIY vs. done by a professional contractor, and how much work you’re doing up front.

In general, expect at least a couple of months for a conversion, but larger conversions could take six months to a year. Remember: You can tackle projects as you go: Get the basic work done so that it’s livable, and then continue to enhance your living space over time.
