"Marcus did a phenomenal job cleaning our carpet. We had the carpeting installed throughout our condo when we moved in a year ago. We have kept after the carpet with spot cleaning, but were beginning to see a path of dingy carpeting between our entrance and our kitchen. We called Apke on a Tuesday, and were able to schedule a cleaning for Thursday of the same week. Marcus arrived promptly and went to work. Every trace of the dingy path is gone, and the entire carpet looks bright as new. We had Apke clean carpets twice in our house before we moved and were pleased with their work. We will definitely call them for any future carpet-cleaning services."

"The rep came and measured the floors and came up much higher than our figures. We received the estimate and the dollars did not add up. We called and questioned the math. The next estimate was substantially lower and the figures closely matched our own measurements. <br /> The installation went well. The hardwood installer did a fantastic job with matching the existing floor and trimming the edges. We are extremely happy with the hardwood floor. <br /> The carpet installation was done by a different crew. It went as expected. The installer did a nice job carpeting the stairs and trimming out the hallway doors. <br /> Even with the reduced estimate on the second invoice we had extra boxes of the hardwood that we were able to return for a credit. <br />"

"Recently we suffered a flooded basement and our nice Berber carpet was ruined. I checked Angie’s list for recommended carpet and flooring specialist. It was important for us to find a reliable contractor that would do the work for a fair price. A name that topped the list was Bockrath. I messaged Bockrath and was contacted by Doug. He sent Adam to our residence to give us a proper quote on the required project. Adam listened to our requirements and took the measurements of the space. He got back to us during that weekend with a decent quote. We went to Bockrath’s location in Far Hills (Dayton area) to check out the Carpet Showroom. We were met by Tom, who was supper nice and attentive. We told Tom what kind of carpet we were looking for and he showed us a number of samples of various quality and price. Tom also told us more about the company, their history and how they operate. The selection was very extensive, and we found a couple of carpets that we were interested in. We ended up going with the Classical Presence carpet in Daydream, which was in our price range and the closest match to our old carpet. Tom passed on the information to Adam, who sent us an updated quote. After thoughtful consideration we got back to Adam, that we would like to have Bockrath do the project. Bockrath was able to schedule us in pretty quickly for the installation, which was very important to us. We received a confirmation from Ryan with the install date and arrive time of the crew. On the install day, Rich and Alex arrived on time, as scheduled to do the work. They were very friendly and well experienced with a carpet install project such as ours (which included a carpeted stairway). They worked very hard and efficiently. Rich and Alex would contact us at different stages of the work to invite us to see the progress and answer any questions. Because of the extent of the work they had to come out on Saturday to complete the work on the stairs. I should mention that this great install team also did a super job of cleaning up any debris and the space looked great when they were done. There was no hard sales pitches at the conclusion, but they did leave informative materials on how to care for the carpet and possible accessories we might be interested in. Oh…. and our dog liked them as well. The whole process was top notch from the timeliness, professionalism, and knowledge of their craft. I do recommend that anyone planning a Carpeting of Flooring project check out Bockrath Flooring and Rugs."

"It went very well. Richard facetimed and called me a few times to make sure everything was correct. He really helped my wife decide on the color and they even painted the floor a couple of different coats to show us the colors. They took off the crown moulding and installed new crown moulding. I had a few issues and they came back immediately and fixed it all."

"1) We didn't hear from the schedule and installation department until the last minute.  Becausse of the amount of furniture and other items to be moved I was concerned about getting the rooms cleared out on time without having to do all the lifting myself. I was playing voice-machine message -tag with the head of installing. Finally, on the 16th I got a call from one scheduling person saying that the carpets would be installed the next morning between 9:30 and 11:00 AM, and it was cleared that she had not spoken with the head  installer as there had been no answers to my previous calls. Fortunately, my son was able to come over at 9:00 AM the next morning to help move furniture.  The installers called at 11:30 AM and said that they were on their way. <br /> 2) The salesman bragged that the installers worked exclusively for Carpetland and they did not subcontract to other installers. <br /> The panel truck that installers drove to my house was copper color and the sides were rusted out. There we no signs or logo's on the truck to identify the installers as being from Carpetland. We did not know they were from Carpetland until we saw them start pulling carpet out of the back of the truck. The men were dressed in jeans and had no identifying badges or other id's to  identify them as representing Carpetland and they looked like freelance sub-contractors. <br /> 3) One of the reasons we wanted our son there was because the salesman told us that the installers would not move any furniture, and we found out the day before they they would and they did help to move furniture to clear the rooms for installation. <br /> 4) When he came to measure the rooms prior to installation the salesman did it with my teenage daughter present by herself. Although I had informed his company that I was on my way to the my house. When I got to my my house he said that he had already measured the rooms and he was speaking to my teenage daughter.  On the day of installation, the carpet installers informed me that the salesman had miss-measured one of the bedrooms and the piece that they bought along for my daughter's bedroom was too little.  They left it on the floor and said that would have to come back <br /> 5) When we got the message that they were going install the right carpet and living room carpet the following Saturday, the 24th. the message said they would come earlier between 8 and 9 AM.  Again they called at 9:20 to say they were coming at 9:30 AM. This time they got it all right and we were finally able to put my daughter's room back in order.  I paid the installers the balance as requested.. <br /> 6) I have complained to the salesman and the company saying that everything they claimed that differentiated them from their competition was false, and they ended up doing everything that the salesman said the Carpetland does not do. <br />"

"Weickert's not only does outstanding work at a reasonable price, but they are kind and wonderful to work with.  Both my sister and I live out of town and we needed someone trustworthy, reliable and honest to work on our 85-year old mother's home.  Eric, Bill and everyone who worked on my mom's kitchen and bathrooms for about 3 weeks were very respectful and kind to our mom and Eric even took our mom shopping for appliances and countertops!  I cannot say enough about their willingness to work together and they provided the ultimate customer service!  The workmanship and final product are outstanding!  My mom's kitchen looks beautiful and bathrooms are updated.  A year later, we hired Weickert's again to re-carpet my mom's basement and perform some work to sell the house.  We trusted Eric to choose the carpet and work in the house unsupervised.  Again, the quality of the workmanship was outstanding, and the price reasonable.  We highly recommend Weickerts for their quality, price, flexibility and honesty.  They are simply outstanding in all aspects!"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Kings Mills, OH

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
