"Dixie Home Improvements did a terrific job. They replaced rotten floors, bathroom, hall and laundry room, and put new floor covering. They remodeled my whole bathroom and made it look beautiful. They replaced old paneling with sheet rock and painted it. They replaced old doors. They made my old house look new and pretty. I am forever thankful for them."

"Predatory Sales and Subpar Quality Mad City's process is predatory from start to finish. Three hours of high-pressure sales tactics in my own home, even after I repeatedly stated I needed to discuss it with my husband. After the installation the field manager acknowledging the wave and gaps in the wall, he told me that while it didn't meet my expectations, it met their "standard of error." Let that sink in: Mad City Bath?s official policy is that crooked and wavy is good enough. If you value your money, or want a shower that is actually square and plumb, stay far away from this company. They perform subpar work, hide behind automated phone lines when things go wrong, and will abandon you the moment they have your money. Hire a reputable contractor instead."

"I hired Statesville Masonry & Decks for a covered patio and outdoor fireplace project. While portions of the work were started, the job was never completed despite full payment being made. Specifically, the contractor failed to relocate the outdoor fireplace to the agreed-upon location and did not cut an opening through the patio roof for the chimney, leaving the fireplace unusable. I made multiple attempts over several months to allow the contractor to finish the work. Several completion timelines were provided but not met, and the project was ultimately left incomplete with no refund or resolution offered. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this company."

"They did a great job! My roof looks great! Reliable and kept me well informed about everything. They kept cost in mind and cleaned up nicely after themselves. Serge even came out late to tarp the roof until it could get repaired so that I didnâ t have any further damage to the house waiting for the roof. They were very nice to work with. Great people. I canâ t say enough good things about them!"

Customers say: Quality work

"They tore out my entire bathroom, scrapped the ceiling, tore out everything else, the tub and surround. Blank slate. They put tile on the floor and walls for the shower, painted the ceiling and the walls. Put in new light fixtures, new vanity, and countertop, new toilet, towel bars, new moldings. They painted the ceiling and the walls, but never painted the moldings at all, they were just the primed moldings they bought at Lowes. The new floor molding that was put on after the floor was installed is still just the primed molding. The molding around the ceiling was just hit-and-miss, I see spots of the old yellowed paint and part of the white ceiling paint they used on the ceiling. I asked them to paint the door, that was not even done either until I asked them, and then they threw on a fast coat that did not cover everything. I think they were in a big hurry to get to all the other jobs he had going on at the same time as he often only worked a couple of hours a day to fit us in between his other jobs. I had an appt with him to do the entire job, figured it would be a week tops, but because he had so many other jobs going at the same time it was strung out three weeks. Also, I told him the very first time he came out to give me a quote, I would not put up with him just working a few hours here and there. He said he did not work that way. Well, he does work that way and I was very disappointed. There are big white spots on the shower floor, which I am guessing is from the grout or something, but it will not come off and looks bad. All the workers were very kind and respectful, and they worked well together."

"Wise Home Direct did a major interior makeover on my house last fall and not only did they do a fantastic job but I really enjoyed working with them and appreciate their professionalism. Today I had an urgent need for some follow-up repair work and I'm completely impressed with their willingness and ability to rally for me late in the day on a Friday afternoon to mobilize and handle my issues same day. It's been about 9 months since they finished their project and I am completely impressed with this kind of after-project support and look forward to the next project I will do with them."

FAQs for bathroom remodel projects in Kings Mountain, NC

You can buy a replacement vanity by selecting a pre-made unit with an integrated sink from a local home improvement supplier. Pre-made vanities are designed for easy installation and compatibility with your existing plumbing. If a ready-made option doesn't meet your needs, consider hiring a custom builder to create a vanity that fits your space and style.

You can purchase a bathroom vanity from major home improvement retailers like Home Depot and Lowe’s or online stores like Wayfair, which offer a variety of pre-made vanities. Visiting local showrooms and bathroom supply stores can also provide professional advice and help you choose the right vanity for your space.

Installing your bathroom vanity flush against the wall enhances stability and prevents shifting. This placement also eliminates hard-to-clean gaps and keeps your vanity securely in place. Building codes often require a minimum clearance of four inches from bathtubs and at least 21 inches of free space in front of the sink for accessibility and safety.

You can upgrade a single vanity to a double vanity by installing additional cabinets, a second sink, and matching fixtures. This process requires additional plumbing adjustments, countertop modifications, and careful alignment to ensure both sinks function correctly. Upgrading to a double vanity enhances bathroom functionality and offers more space, which is especially beneficial for shared bathrooms.

The best vanity top material depends on your budget, style preferences, and maintenance willingness. Materials like quartz or solid surfaces are excellent choices for durability and low maintenance. If you're on a tighter budget, laminate is affordable but less durable. Consider how much traffic your bathroom gets and choose a material that balances cost, appearance, and upkeep.

Installing a bathroom vanity takes between three and six hours. Simple installations may be completed in under three hours, while more complex projects requiring adjustments or plumbing modifications can take up to six hours or more. The installation process includes assembling cabinets, placing the countertop, installing the sink if necessary, and connecting plumbing.
