"Shout out to Nick and Sebastian for the great work replacing my water heater. It was in a really inconvenient spot, but they went to work right away and got the job done."

"We called Roto-Rooter in Kingwood for an emergency when water began leaking from our downstairs toilet due to a recurring clog. The technicians said they could not clear it and claimed a camera inspection showed our sewer pipe was broken. We were quoted about $13,000 for repairs and charged over $400 for the visit. Later my husband realized we were never shown the camera footage. When he called the office, he was told they usually don?t show customers the footage during the visit and send it later, which raises the question of how a homeowner would know that footage is actually from their home. We got a second opinion. Another plumbing company ran a camera, showed us the live feed, confirmed the pipe was not broken, and cleared the clog. If we hadn?t gotten a second opinion, we might have paid $13,000 for a repair that wasn?t needed."

"We had leak that left a couple of water spots in our home and I called this company because of the good reviews. But we were indeed scammed, the technician quoted us $21k for a “bellying of our pipes”. We had mentioned to the tech that everytime we noticed the wet spots it was when we ran our dishwasher but he never checked our dishwasher or anything. We asked him to do the camera to check our pipes and he concluded the ‘pipe bellying’ due to ‘erosion’ (The pipe camera service is $450 btw, another ridiculous amount.) Well first of all, our home is a NEW build, its less than 5 yrs old so it ddnt make sense to me, plus who has 21k? We went ahead and hired a different plumbing company and within the first 15mins they concluded that it was our dishwasher that was causing the leak! I saw it with my own eyes. They said that i just needed to replace our dishwasher. They said that there’s nothing wrong with our pipes. Which totally makes sense because we noticed the leak everytime we used our dishwasher. Plus they fixed our garbage disposal for FREE compared to Texas quality plumbing quoted us $750 for a new one. How ridiculous. I called Texas quality plumbing because it was upsetting to get quoted 21k and i also asked for the video recording and pictures and a detailed report of the pipe camera service they provided and they cannot provide me with the report. They said ‘we can come out again and the tech will do it again and explain to you where he found the bellying’. They said that they dont even have the initial recording! Another thing to add, since we stopped using our dishwasher we haven’t had ANY LEAKS! PLEASE PLEASE BE CAUTIOUS WHEN USING THIS COMPANY AND MAKE SURE TO GET A SECOND OPINION! THIS COMPANY CHARGED US A RIDICULOUS AMOUNT OF MONEY AND THEY MISDIAGNOSED WHAT WAS WRONG! BOOK A DIFFERENT COMPANY! Attached are photos of their ridiculous prices. Also there’s nothing wrong with our toilets but they also added that we needed to replace them as well. 🤦🏽‍♀️"

FAQs for drain clog or blockage clearing projects in Kingwood, TX

Snaking a simple clog near a tub, toilet, or sink often takes about five minutes. Deeper blockages along the main line can stretch the job to a few hours because the pro must feed extra cable and may need a camera to confirm the pipe is clear. Either way, specialized tools help pros work quickly and keep your drains running for the long haul.

Aggressive snaking can scratch pipes, push debris deeper, or even crack older lines. That risk is low with an experienced plumber who matches the cable size to the pipe and eases the snake through bends instead of forcing it. If you’re unsure of your technique—or your pipes are already fragile—calling a licensed pro is the safest, and often cheapest, move.

Start with simple barriers: mesh screens on every tub, shower, and sink keep hair, food bits, and jewelry out of the pipes. Skip harsh chemicals; a monthly flush with hot (not boiling) water clears light buildup without damaging plastic lines. Finally, practice smart disposal—no grease, wipes, or kitty litter down the drain—and schedule routine cleanings if you have older plumbing.

Roto‑Rooter typically charges a flat $160 to $450 for standard snaking, which may include a quick sewer inspection and basic clean‑out. Exact pricing depends on the clog’s location and complexity. Repairs or part replacements fall outside that flat fee, so ask for a line‑item estimate if your tech spots broken pipe sections or recommends additional work.

Most liquid cleaners rely on caustic chemicals that eat through hair and grime—but they also erode metal and even some plastics over time. Repeated use strips protective pipe coatings and can leave you with leaks or premature failures. If hot water or a plunger doesn’t help, call a plumber for mechanical removal instead of pouring more chemicals down the line.
