"Did the work for me and my mother for a couple of years. Always did a great job for my mother and the work they actually did for me was good. As time wore on, crew began to skip work originally agreed upon (weed-eating) at my home, even though price ($45/week for my 1/3rd acre yard) was never reduced accordingly. Stated reason was because of my dog's waste in the backyard. I can understand that (I'm partially disabled), but owner was asked about that at the beginning of service and said it would be no problem. As services that had been performed from the beginning were not performed, owner stated all he ever agreed upon was strictly mowing, that weed eating and trimming were extra. We amicably agreed to part ways."

"<p>Once we scheduled the installation, they showed up when they said and completed the work on schedule. Given the amount of pipe and heads that had to be put in I can't believe how quick it went. They did an excellent job of fixing the yard and I came in on the last day and seeded. Matt took the time to explain the setup of the controller and give me some pointers. This is an excellent system and will help me get my yard where I want it. On a side note, two weeks after completion a delivery truck went off of my drive and drove over one of the heads, breaking it. Matt came out the next day and fixed it! </p> <p>So, no surprises, they did exactly what they said and on schedule. </p> <br />"

"Carson and Matt did a terrific job, very thorough and answered all questions asked. Our home is five years old and the white trim was very dirty...looks like we just painted the house now! Higher Ground has been doing our gutters the past several years, always a great job. Thanks Higher Ground and to Carson & Matt for an excellent job."

"6/5 & 6/18/2019 The bedding maintenance crew, Amy and her helpers, are outstanding! Amy is careful to listen and implement my requests. She is great at troubleshooting issues as well. I have a butterfly garden and extensive complicated perennial beds. Amy and her helpers perpetually go above and beyond in their work to keep the beds looking their best. Well worth the $30 each for each visit. 6/20/2019 - The mulching crew did an excellent job on my yard! The back beds are difficult to access. The crew hauled individual wheel barrow loads to all the areas and raked out the mulch being careful to avoid smothering my perennials. It made the entire yard beautiful. $508 for a solid layer of mulch installed on extensive flower beds. I found the price reasonable. I paid close to that amount when I had mulch delivered and installed it myself."

"It is a husband-wife operation. They are excellent. They come out every fall and disconnect the pipes. They also blow out all the water and set it up for winter. In the spring, they come out to reconnect the water, and they fix everything that is broken. There were three to four guys out to do the work last time. The service is generally less expensive than most of the other landscaping companies. Unlike most other landscapers, these people really do know their business. They really do know their plans that they recommend to us. They will do well under that condition in the soil. They are very competent in everything that they set their hands in landscaping. They also do decorative walkways, garden trimming, and in stonework. They also do whole driveway in stone if we want that. They don't have to advertise because their customers refer them constantly. They are difficult to get hold of. They are very difficult to get scheduled with. People should not expect to call them, and have them to show up the next week because usually they are booked 6 weeks ahead. They are very friendly people and honest. They run everything themselves. They don't have staff; but they have workers that they hire. They don't have office staff to make appointments. When we call to make appointments, it will be Dan's wife. They are really nice people."

"The Waterworks proposal was the best design. For example, they were the only irrigation contractor who put the controller inside the garage, clearly the best place for it. Their proposal was also the lowest bid, even when their design had more heads that a number of the others. They also had a thorough understanding of water company requirements (TASS). The team did quality work, and Anthony came by after a week to ensure the system was working properly. In short, Waterworks was the perfect choice."

"These guys do a great job both with installation and upkeep. They come twice a year and make needed adjustments as our landscaping changes, and our trees grow, all for a fair price and with the greatest courtesy. Todd has an excellent understanding of landscape irrigation. In the fall, they winterize the system so there is no chance of winter freezing. The $75 is for semi annual maintenance. I do not recall the exact installation price, but it was quite competitive."

FAQs for lawn and garden sprinkler system installation projects in Knoxville, TN

While drip irrigation systems have higher upfront costs, they can save you money in the long run. By delivering water directly into the soil with minimal evaporation and runoff, drip irrigation systems conserve water and improve efficiency. This means better performance and results for your landscaping, and cost savings over the system's lifespan.

Yes, irrigation systems can add value to your home, especially when installed with high-quality materials and a solid design. A well-irrigated landscape enhances curb appeal and can attract potential buyers. However, poor design or installation may reduce performance and even decrease your property's value. Hiring an expert for installation and performing regular maintenance is key to securing the long-term benefits.

A local irrigation professional can help you check your drip irrigation system to make sure it's in good shape. You'll want to make sure the water pressure is in a good range, repair any leaks as soon as possible, and cover the cost to winterize your sprinkler system as recommended by your irrigation contractor.

A drip irrigation system lasts between 10 and 15 years. This lifespan is determined by the quality of materials, the precision of installation, and regular professional maintenance. Unlike traditional sprinkler systems that can last up to 50 years, the thinner piping used in drip systems is more sensitive to UV exposure and environmental wear. Proper upkeep and timely repairs enhance durability and ensure consistent irrigation performance.

Drip irrigation is best suited for plant beds, containers, greenhouses, and row crops. It supplies water directly to individual plants, ensuring precise moisture control where it is needed most. For areas with simple layouts, above-ground systems work efficiently, while subsurface installations may be cost-prohibitive in spaces with extensive tree roots or irregular terrain. Proper planning maximizes the benefits of drip irrigation across a variety of applications.
