"Kumara did an excellent job on my tricky faux beam project. He is amongst the most conscientious people or craftsmen I have met and his attention to detail was top notch. Business wise he was also a pleasure to deal with. I would hire him again in a heartbeat."

"We purchased cabinets for our new kitchen and bathrooms from Larry and Angel Haynie of Big Larry Designs. I have contracted with multitude of vendors throughout my 35 years of general contracting and remodeling and have never felt compelled to write a bad review, this being my first bad review. Big Larry Designs & the Haynie’s are, by far, the worst vendor/owners I have ever done business with. That said, I do take some responsibility for the issues, as I broke my own #1 rule: NEVER, NEVER, EVER, pay a vendor in full for their product prior to delivery, especially when that product is delivered months out. A deposit is fine, full payment is a HUGE mistake. A full payment requirement puts the buyer at a distinct disadvantage when problems arise, and problems will arise. A paid in full vendor has no “skin in the game” to communicate, keep commitments, and solve issues."

"Great! Always communicated when he'd be here. He coordinated with design center and granite fabrication. Allowed us to do a few things our own. He had good ideas on many details. Has a good eye for design. The job is complete and we are very happy with the results."

FAQs for steam shower installation projects in La Pine, OR

A steam shower is a regular shower stall outfitted with a steam generator. Push a button, and the generator heats water to create soothing steam, and you’ve got an instant spa at about 110°F. Because it doubles as a standard shower, you don’t need extra square footage—just the right plumbing, a sealed enclosure, and proper ventilation.

Expect to spend roughly $0.50 to $1 on water and electricity for a 20- to 30-minute steam session. Actual costs depend on your local utility rates, but most homeowners find that the increase on their monthly bill is modest, even with regular use. To keep ongoing costs down, look for an energy-efficient generator and ensure your shower is properly sealed to prevent heat loss.

Flush the generator regularly to remove mineral buildup and maintain a steady steam flow. Most models have a drain valve or button—hit it after each session or as the manufacturer recommends. Skipping this essential maintenance step can trigger safety shut-offs or shorten the lifespan of your steam shower.

It’s not uncommon for homeowners to discover mold in their steam showers. Steam equals humidity, and humidity invites mold. Run the bathroom fan during and after each session, crack the door to allow air circulation, and wipe down the walls frequently. If you spot mold, spray undiluted white vinegar, wait an hour, then scrub—it’s an easy, chemical-free fix.
