I worked in construction as a finish carpenter, then in a cabinet shop before starting my own business. While working at Burger King, I got a Masters in Business Administration. I already had two years of engineering at Northeastern College then received a BS in elementary education and taught school in New England before entering the Navy. \nIn the late 1980's I went to work for Johnny Fence and later I bought Johnny Fence and operated it under another name. A few years later I started Up-Rite Fence Company. In 2005 we became a construction company.\n\nMary came to Whatcom County in 1979 and raised a family in Ferndale and Blaine while working at a nursing home for 18 years. Mary and I were married in 1997 and Mary took over office management, estimates and sales.\n
