"Great experience, easy to deal with and was able to complete the job same day as estimate. Start to finish from the first phone call to job completion was only 2 days. Most other companies were at least a week for an estimate and then they would have to schedule an installer to come back on a different day, Snyder sent a tech out to do the estimate which was on par or slightly less then other companies and then he did an above average install. His install went way beyond how I was proposing to do it and definitely a lot nicer of an install."

"I was very pleased with them that I recommended them to a neighbour of mine. The estimate they gave me was less than half of what the other plumber company gave me. They did an excellent job. It doesn’t leak. They came on different occasions. The work was good. I have no problems with it. They were prompt and courteous. I will use them again."

"I recently purchased a home that had significant water damage to an exterior wall.  I got estimates from multiple people and initially went with another company since Gary's price was a little higher due to the fact he wanted to do a more extensive rebuild.  After the first company I hired dug into the wall they realized the damage was worse than they thought and they were not licensed to do what needed to be done.  I called Gary back and he came by the very next morning to assess the situation.  He honored his earlier estimate even though what the other company had messed up was going to take him more work to fix.  Once he started working, he realized that whoever initially built the wall had not done a good job and some things were not up to code, which again created more work for him.  We eventually got everything put back together for roughly the initial estimate, even after the additional materials and labor. <br /> A month or two after he finished the work, my roof developed a leak near where he had been working.  Even though it was likely not his fault (I had a new roof installed by a different company right around the same time), simply because there was a small chance that it might have been, he returned multiple times to troubleshoot where the leak was coming from.  He eventually completely redid a small portion of the roof in the area where the leak was and that fixed the problem.  Meanwhile, the new doorjamb that he had installed warped slightly due to the Florida humidity, causing the door to become crooked.  He came and fixed this problem also, no questions asked. <br /> I am a first-time homeowner, meaning I didn't know a lot going into this process .  Gary was and continues to be extremely helpful.  In my opinion he is a very trustworthy and skilled contractor."

"In September 2012 our drain was clogged. We had company staying with us and it was a hot evening. I called Beltz, because those were the ones that had serviced the septic for the previous owner of the house. Darla and Steve didn't let us down: they came that evening, pumped out the tank and even helped us get the kitchen sink unclogged! They were an amazing rescue team. Working over time in the heat without one complaint! <br /> After looking at everything, Steve had already told me, that we might have issues with the drain field, because the septic shouldn't have been that full according to the records. Low and behold, soon after we had issues again and they had to come out a second time to pump the tank. That's when we decided to get an estimate on a new septic system. I didn't even bother to contact any other company, because Steve and Darla were so knowledgeable and competent. When they weren't sure about something they'd call the inspector to sort out things to make sure getting a permit and passing inspection wouldn't be a problem. <br /> When the inspector came out to check on the location for the drain field he assured me, that he enjoyed working with Beltz for their competence. <br /> Despite Steve still ailing from a major health issue he and Darla started work on our new septic system on Tuesday, March 12th 2013 and were done the next day in the evening! <br /> They came early in the morning with all their equipment and Steve started with taking down one big magnolia and several small ones to prevent roots damaging the new system. Then he dug all the trenches and destroyed the old septic and filled it in with dirt. He managed to keep the construction site contained to a minimum. As they had suggested we put in a larger system than the minimum requirement due to us hosting friends and family on a regular basis. They explained their work to me in every step. <br /> Darla and Steve put in the new and bigger tank with two chambers and two filters and put in all the required layers, pipes and fabrics. Darla working like a man and Steve working so hard I was afraid he might drop from exhaustion. <br /> The bill really was a surprise as they gave us a discount for one pump-out, because they couldn't start work as early as planned due to Steve's health issue. <br /> Inspection passed without problems and the system is working fine since over a year now. <br /> Had Steve come out on May 5th 2014 for a stench I had noticed and was worried something didn't work properly. He dug up both lids and checked and found a toilet leaking. He showed me how to replace the flap and which one to use and I haven't had a problem since. <br /> Beltz are the best! <br /> <br />"

FAQs for basement drainage channels installation projects in La-crosse, FL

Expect a well-built French drain to last 30 to 40 years. By channeling both surface- and ground-water away from your foundation, the system relieves hydrostatic pressure and helps prevent costly structural damage. Choose a pipe with a quality cloth filter to keep sediment out and extend the drain’s life. A quick annual inspection and routine cleanouts will keep water flowing freely, ensuring the system continues to protect your home for years to come.

Most French drains sit two feet below grade, but depth ultimately depends on the problem you’re solving. For puddling rainwater or snowmelt, a shallow curtain drain at lawn level often does the trick. To handle rising groundwater, pros dig deeper, down to the footing, and run the pipe beneath the basement slab. A drainage contractor will determine the optimal depth for your specific soil conditions and water issues.

A properly installed interior French drain captures water at the slab, channels it to a sump pit, and directs it safely outside, preventing basement floods before they occur. Because the pipe sits just under the floor edge, a plumber can reach it easily for cleaning or repairs. Pairing the drain with a reliable sump pump gives you the best long-term protection.

Hire a contractor who installs drainage systems every day—typically a foundation specialist, drainage contractor, experienced landscaper, or plumber with waterproofing experience. These pros understand slope, soil, and local codes, and they have the equipment to trench safely around utilities. Ask for references and photos of recent jobs to be sure they can design a system that keeps water off your foundation for decades.

Once the drain is in, patch the yard by reseeding bare spots or replacing plants the crew removed. Inside, look for ways to add value—finishing the basement or upgrading interior waterproofing while the space is open often costs less now than later. Schedule a quick annual checkup to flush sediment and confirm the pipe and sump pump are clear. Consistent maintenance ensures the drain functions properly and protects your investment.

Most policies don’t cover the cost of repairing a French drain itself, but they may provide coverage for water damage if the system fails. Coverage varies by insurer, so be sure to read the fine print or contact your agent before any issues arise. If you live in a high-risk flood zone, consider a separate flood policy to close the gap. Knowing your coverage in advance helps you budget for repairs and avoid unexpected costs.
