"I had lots of quotes with people telling me different things about how they could install electric for a hot tub. The only one who was truly knowledgeable and would do the extra work to wire through the rafters instead of the whole line being ran outside was Squared Away Electric. They are very professional and have upfront pricing. The price was competitive, but equally important was their quick response time. They are willing to work for your business when others wouldn't get around to actually giving a quote they promised to do. They took the payment in portions as each piece was done respectively. You know by doing business that way they are trustworthy. I felt like hiring them was the easiest part of the process for getting the hot tub in. I would recommend them to everyone!"

"Connor was great! He made an actual appointment (no 4 hour window necessary) and showed up right on time. He replaced a dimmer switch, modified a light fixture and fixed an outdoor outlet that had stopped working. He was professional and courteous and there were no surprises with the invoice as it matched his estimate exactly. I would definitely use again."

"The plumber arrived and spent 6 hours trouble shooting water heater problem on newly constructed home. He was good and identified problems and took action to correct, but could not fix water heater issue. He discovered there was not enough power, so he could not charge for his efforts as he did not fix it. He offered a $16 and some change monthly service plan to help with costs and I agreed, but he genuinely tried his best including replacing two heating elements. His company brought two electricians who were here for 1 hour and charged over $300 to report there was a break in the wire and did not repair. Next day the builder of the house brought his electrician for 30 minutes, made repairs finding 3 wires leading from breaker box, but only 2 leading to water heater. He diagnosed a junction box somewhere was embeded that the 3rd wire went to. The two remaining wires had been accidently crossed and were wired wrong to the water heater. He corrected that and was done in 30 minutes."

"Well we were going to do a ground mount using re-purposed
metal, but there was not enough of it. So Renewable Engineered Systems designed
a system for the roof of the house. We Worked with Brian Brown who helped us
decide what to use.   The solar panel
system is very neat. Get to watch my power everyday.

"I have had Prudential's HVAC Maintenance Plan for several years and HIGHLY recommend them. I have a 26 year-old furnace that receives their attention annually. When I called for my annual maintenance check for my furnace, they gave me a date and time that fit perfectly into my calendar. After my 45-minute advance call, Stuart showed up ready to don shoe covers before entering my home. After a thorough inspection and cleaning, he recommended NOT replacing the furnace because it still had a lot of high-quality life in it. What a relief! The annual maintenance cost not only covers inspections for your furnace and AC, but covers labor costs as well if anything is needed. Who else does that?"

"I would highly recommend Vertical Electric. Casey was very knowledgeable and friendly. He was able to diagnose the problem I had with the main circuit breaker and quickly fixed it. He also corrected an electrical problem I had with my ac unit without charging extra."

FAQs for electrical wiring or panel upgrade projects in La Grange, KY

While homeowners with substantial electrical knowledge might technically attempt a subpanel installation, most local building departments require permits and inspections for this type of work. Professional electricians understand local code requirements, can obtain necessary permits, and ensure the installation meets safety standards. Given the significant safety risks associated with incorrect electrical work, most homeowners benefit from hiring a licensed professional.

A standard subpanel installation takes an average of four to eight hours. This timeframe may extend if you're installing multiple subpanels or adding specialized circuits like those for spa equipment. Factors such as difficult access points, complex wiring paths, or permit processing times can also affect the overall project duration.

Adding a subpanel doesn't directly reduce electricity consumption or lower your utility bills. A subpanel simply redistributes power from your main panel to additional circuits. However, organizing your electrical system more efficiently may help prevent overloaded circuits and the associated problems. For actual cost savings, consider energy-efficient appliances and lighting instead.

The appropriate subpanel size depends on your specific electrical requirements. Consider the number and type of devices you'll be powering, potential future needs, and the capacity of your main electrical panel. An electrician can perform a load calculation to determine the most suitable amperage rating for your situation, ensuring you have adequate power without overpaying for unnecessary capacity.

A main electrical panel connects directly to your utility's power supply and contains your home's primary service disconnect. It distributes electricity throughout your entire house. A subpanel, by contrast, receives power from the main panel and redistributes it to a specific area of your home. Think of the main panel as the primary distribution point and the subpanel as a secondary branch that extends your electrical system's reach.

While electrical upgrades aren't as immediately visible as kitchen or bathroom renovations, they can contribute to your home's functionality and safety. Prospective buyers often appreciate updated electrical systems that can accommodate modern power demands. A properly installed subpanel that provides additional capacity for workshops, home offices, or future expansions could be an attractive feature for certain buyers, though the direct impact on home value varies by market.
