"The service was excellent. My carpets never looked so good and Ross was able to clean my white overstuffed chair to look just like new when I thought I might have to get rid of it. His pricing is extremely reasonable."

"FABULOUS RESULT! Barry is a consummate professional. He is relaxed and friendly, knows his stuff, gets right to work, and creates a gorgeous result. He stretched three areas for us: 1) a long, wide hallway, 2) a master closet, and 3) the corner of a large living room. Results are stunning; carpet looks new! We feared we would need to replace the carpet because the ripples continued to increase over time (HUGE expense). Now, we have avoided the cost of replacing the carpeted areas, and we are dancing with joy. We definitely recommend Barry."

"This Company went above and beyond our expectations. They were competitively priced, I actually got four bids. Mike and Tim were our installers and excellent in every respect. They did a beautiful job for us. Mike was meticulous and it showed. Brian Shaw helped me pick out my flooring and baseboards and also did an excellent job. Their customer service was outstanding. They kept you informed throughout the whole process. A1 Factory Direct Flooring was a joy to work with and we will definitely use them again."

"i was so happy they were still here when we needed them 14 years later. Marty Dixon did the exact measure from before and his crew were exceptional! 3eAll the carpet was installed, regardless of the firestorm! the Cocos fire was a threat with the winds and ash, but all went well! WE LOVE CONTRACT CARPET! Family owned and run small business, who should have support of the community! <br />"

"Alan Hunter assisted me in selecting new carpet for my living room. He knew his inventory well and took the time to show me the different options available in terms of pattern, color, etc. I told him the basic style of my home and he pulled samples for me that were consistent with that theme. He was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I couldn't have asked for more In terms of customer service. <br /> Alan came to my home and measured for the carpet. The installers were right on time and did a great job on the installation, fast and professional. I love the new carpet, and the whole process of picking it out and having it installed went very smoothly. I highly recommend this company to anyone needing new carpeting or flooring. It is a family owned business, and working directly with the owners makes a huge difference in the quality of service you receive. One of the best I've ever worked with. <br />"

"North Park Rug and Carpet is AWESOME! <br /> I needed to carpet an unfinished staircase within 48 hours (was having a house appraisal). <br /> I called and Mike was willing to help me the same day. I went over to the showroom and explained that I have animals and I was not sure if the carpet was going to be permanent, but I still wanted something that looked good. He took into consideration all of my concerns and he suggested some things on the show floor (nice options in his showroom). <br /> Then he asked if I was open to looking at the remnant area (these are the leftover carpet pieces after an installation). We looked at what was available and he found me carpet at a fraction of the price! I had checked around and I found nothing under $900 (and that would have been lower quality carpet). Mike really thought about what I wanted and was very accommodating and friendly (Kim was helpful also!). <br /> Installation was easy and professional. Steve came to do the measuring and sent a team to do the installation. He was helpful and very nice and the install team was professional and did a great job! <br /> I am happy that I had the opportunity to support a local family owned business. I will be recommending them to anyone that needs carpet or rugs! <br /> Thank you so much. <br /> ~Rachel <br />"

"I called Frank Prantil the on Friday asking him when he could clean the carpets in an upscale rental house in Point Loma. He said <br /> he could come the next day. We met at 9:30am. He walked through the whole 4 bedroom, 3 bath house and he gave me a very fair price to clean all but one bedroom (which hadn't been used). There were 25 carpeted challenging steps that were really dirty not only on the top but between the risers as well. Not sure how carpeting between steps can get so dirty but they were. I'm happy to say Frank got those things really clean...what a relief. <br /> I had the carpet cleaned 2 years ago through out in this same house by Frank I picked King Sweep out of all the carpet cleaners in Angie's list then because of the high recommendations. Frank is very personable, hard working and puts his whole heart and soul into the job. He wants his customers happy and I must say I'm one of his happy customers. As long as he's in business I'll use Frank. <br />"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in La Mesa, CA

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
