"Ross Carpet Care did an excellent job cleaning our carpets. He kept us informed about our upcoming appointment and showed up on time and got straight to work. Ross is a very personable guy and answered all my questions. I also asked him about cleaning tile which our house has and he was really knowledgable. I will definitely use him again and trust him with the care of our carpeting and tile. Great job! <br />"

"Robert was very helpful to me in choosing the appropriate carpet for our home, and Bobby, the installer, did a beautiful job! Robert always responded to any questions and checked in during the install. Bobby paid attention to detail and it shows! I like that he took the time to measure carefully and ensured that both the carpet and the baseboard were installed flawlessly. Bobby and his assistant were very careful moving our furniture and placed it all back after the install. Our home looks so much better now!"

"i was so happy they were still here when we needed them 14 years later. Marty Dixon did the exact measure from before and his crew were exceptional! 3eAll the carpet was installed, regardless of the firestorm! the Cocos fire was a threat with the winds and ash, but all went well! WE LOVE CONTRACT CARPET! Family owned and run small business, who should have support of the community! <br />"

"They are excellent. I have gone to a lot of stores and placed looking at carpets and theirs was around the same price but the quality of carpet that I got was better which surprised me. They were cheaper from all the other places that I went to. They don't use sub contractors so I did not have to worry."

"From the very beginning, communicating via email and telephone was very pleasant and they responded promptly. For our installation, the installers showed up exactly on time, were very friendly and professional. They removed the old carpet, installed the new and were very gentle on our furniture...despite its weight and size. They left the work space clean and free of any trash. On top of all that, there estimation of the time it would to take to complete the work was extremely accurate. In fact, we were a little late getting back to the office, as we didn't really think it would be done that quickly. There prices were very reasonable, I will use them again and would highly recommend them."

"My daughter's room had MANY little items on heavy furniture.  He carefully moved things around until he got a tight, neat stretch.  He worked so hard!  The carpet which had the threshold taken off was frayed.  He was able to stretch the carpet to cover the fraying.  He added an extra tack strip to ensure the problem would not reoccur.  He replaced the threshold perfectly.  I would totally recommend this company.  Service was excellent, efficient and the worker was professional and pleasant."

"It was a family-owned company which I was looking for. I wanted that personal relationship. They didn't disappoint me. They were very helpful in helping me choose the carpet and we booked the date. It was a three-day job. The men who came out did an excellent job of installing the carpets. They took great care with moving our furniture. It was an excellent experience. We even had a different type of vacuum cleaner. The owner that had the carpet put in there came too and they helped me. I helped them with choosing a vacuum cleaner was concerned. The carpet has been wonderful. They checked up afterwards and made sure that everything was fine. It was just an overall pleasant experience for something that required so much preparation. They made it as pleasant as that job can be. I would definitely recommend them."

"Frank showed up on time, and reviewed my carpets before beginning. He made sure I understood what was going to be done before hand, and how he would deal with refractory carpet stains. He prepared the areas to be cleaned by putting inserts underneath the furniture in order to ensure no subsequent staining would occur. <br /> During the cleaning process, Frank was meticulous at each step, and asked if I were happy before proceeding onto the next area. Frank was eager to please without a doubt. He also applied a deodorizer, and raked in a teflon preservative free of charge! <br /> I had little faith that my bottom stairs could be 'brought back to life' from black, tar-like stains that others could not remove. To my great delight, Frank used a hand wand, and on his hands and knees, he cleaned each step. Miraculously, 98% of the stains were gone, restoring my carpet to its original color. The stains did not reappear after several days of drying! I am so pleased that I kept the faith that someone would have the resources to restore sections of carpet which I had 'written-off'. <br /> Frank worked alone and was not a clock watcher. He gave me his full attention, and was happy to answer all my questions. Frank was environmentally sensitive by dumping the waste water into the sewer line. <br /> Thanks Frank for restoring more than just my carpets.... <br />"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in La Mesa, CA

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
