"We are very pleased we chose the The Floor Store to help us select new flooring and have it installed. We worked with Bill Cunningham to choose carpet and vinyl flooring materials that we are very satisfied with. The installation crews for both the hard floor and the carpet were incredibly professional and highly skilled. They arrived as scheduled, worked consistently throughout the day(s) and completed the work when expected. Between the new flooring and new baseboards, our house feels refreshed and contemporary. This was a great investment in our home and we're so glad we made it."

"We needed bedroom carpet and hadnt had any installed in years, so we decided to shop around and check prices and the customer service of three local carpet businesses. The first was overpriced. The second was reasonably priced, but did not respond to our phone calls, did not follow through after we had selected a carpet and left our address and phone number to have measurements done and seemed more interested in gossiping in front of us than doing business with us, so we left. (Hacienda Carpet and Tile.) From the first call we made to Malooly's, Georgette Malooly and all other employees were friendly, flexible and knowledgable. We explained what type of carpet we were looking for and Georgette made it clear that their company sincerely cared about our business and would help us find the best carpet. She discussed nylon and polyester carpets, showed us many types and answered all of our questions. We were treated like we were high-end customers even though we only wanted two bedrooms carpeted. We were asked what time and day we would like the carpet installed and from the measuring appointment through the installation, all employees were punctual and professional. There was a schedule change due to another customer and we were called and warned in advance and offered an alternative time. Malooly's offers many durable carpets for less than what we paid, but we decided to go with the 20 year warranty carpet and we are very pleased with it. In our eyes, there is only ONE carpet business in Las Cruces and it is clear why they have been in business for over 100 years. Thanks, Malooly's! You will have our business, again! <br />"

"Andrey was my project coordinator and did a fantastic job with the design.  Anatoliy was the installer and also did a fantastic job.  All floors were thin set under backer board to ensure a perfectly level subfloor and each tile was meticulously put in place with an amazing finished product.  I have built houses in the past and have not been impressed with my tile work but this time I am sold on 5 Star for the next project.  The only con's for 5 Star was cost and time to install but those are both directly related to the quality of the finished product and based on what I got I'll happily pay a bit more and wait a bit longer for their work. <br /> <br />"

"Our experience with Casa Carpet and Tile was very good overall. <br /> <br /> They have competitive pricing, an extensive selection of all types of flooring as well as a large in-house inventory. That being said this is not your local big box store and some patrons may be put off the contractor oriented atmosphere. But the difference for us was the customer service......... I suspect that our particular salesman may be more attentive than others but the follow-up was greatly appreciated. <br /> <br /> I will definitely use them for future flooring needs."

"Excellent work! Quality was amazing. A lot of attention to detail from Rodrigo and his workers when removing the old HVAC system and installing the new one. Received professional advice throughout the whole process and was always informed on changes. Very mindful of my questions and concerns. Rodrigo went above and beyond to meet the agreed timeline without compromising quality of work."

"Our purple carpet had about 100 urine stains from previous dogs and our own. The specialist, Robert, matched to color and treated every spot. If we didn't know where they were, we'd never know they spots had been there. Perfect job!"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in La-Mesa, NM

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
