"Our CPVC house piping had a lot of water hammer. After turning on the washing machine, I walked out for a moment, and then when I came back in water was dripping from the ceiling exhaust fan onto the washing machine. We have a two story house and they ran the hot water plumbing from the water heater in the garage through the laundry room ceiling. I removed the exhaust fan and could see water dripping from a tee way back beyond reach. The water hammer from the washer likely caused the fitting to start leaking. I turned the house water supply off and sent a message to Simpson plumbing through Angie's list. A lady from Simpson plumbing contacted me right away the next morning. She was courteous, but was having a hard time understanding what the problem was. Maybe I was giving too much information or something, but when the plumbers arrived later that afternoon they didn't understand what was going on. I ran through what happened again and showed them the wet spot on the ceiling. They had to cut an opening in the ceiling and we turned the water on and confirmed the leak. We moved my washing machine out of their way and they cut out the CPVC tee and replaced it with PEX. The piping was brittle so it took him a couple of attempts to get a straight cut which is why I called them to mess with it. After installing the PEX tee, we were leak free and at my request they provided a reference for the drywall repair. He also advised getting some water hammer arrestors installed on the supply lines to the washing machine to stop the water hammer, which I have since done."

"It was a great experience from beginning to end. Walt and Tammie came in on Monday, got all the information they needed from me, and gave me an verbal estimate based on cost/hour. They returned the next morning with all the parts they needed to do the work. Even with my 3 dogs and me constantly pestering them, they managed to get everything done in one day. They were very efficient and very pleasant to spend the day with. They do good work and stand behind it as well. I needed a small adjustment on the toilet repair so I called them. They returned the next day and made the fix. I highly recommend them."

"He (Kevin) knew right what was causing the problem was once I described the issue. He worked with me over Text Messaging to get the information needed to order the new replacement part. Once it arrived, he quickly contacted me & scheduled time to come install it. After the install he ran a test run to be sure all was working correctly. Fixed just like new! Thank You! Lisa"

"Was a little tough to schedule with initially, but I'm sure now it's because he is in high demand. That being said, he was out within a couple of days and identified and fixed the issue within 30-45 minutes. Excellent communication and extremely knowledgeable. Jeremy could have easily overcharged us for something that wasn't nevessary, but instead he was very honest and thoroughly explained the issue and even how to prevent it in the future. We will definitely use him for future repairs. A++ experience! Don't hesitate to hire this guy!"

FAQs for appliance (major electric appliance) installation and replacement projects in Lafayette, OR

A pro starts by setting the units in place and connecting them to the right plumbing lines, electrical circuits, and, for the dryer, a vent. If the hookups already exist, the job is quick. When they don’t, the installer must add plumbing, outlets, or a vent run, which takes more time and increases the price, especially when the laundry area is located far from existing utilities.

You’ll need the right pros for a tight stacked setup. A natural-gas plumber handles the water lines, drain, and any gas work, while an electrician installs the circuit the dryer needs. If venting or framing changes are required, hire a general contractor to patch the drywall or adjust the framing so that everything meets code and operates safely.

Permanent models need complete plumbing, electrical, and—for dryers—vent hookups. Portable units skip most of that and can run on a standard outlet with a temporary water connection. If your home already has a code-approved hookup, you just connect the new appliances. If not, hire a licensed pro to add the lines and vent so the machines run safely and efficiently.

Relocating a hookup costs between $500 and $5,000, as it may involve installing new outlets, gas lines, vents, and drain pipes. The price increases when the new location is far from existing utilities or requires additional framing and drywall work. Have licensed professionals evaluate your layout, provide a quote for the move, and handle the installation so that every component meets code and works safely.
