"It was not very easy to decide on which roofing company to go with for our barrel tile roof replacement. The biggest choice we had to make was if we wanted to go with the traditional “hot-mop” method or the newer “peel and stick”. Most companies specialize in one or the other method. After doing much research and having many conversations with John Pickerill at Garabar, we chose to go with the “peel and stick” roofing method. We had a few proposals for this method from various companies and we decided to go with Garabar. We chose them because they seemed very knowledgeable and experienced with many years in the roofing business, and their quote was in the middle of all the other quotes we had. Additionally, John provided us with an abundance of detailed information on the entire re-roofing process, where the materials were sourced from, and why their roof was superior to the competitors. Not just taking his word for it, I went to the Better Business Bureau and many other sites like Google and Facebook to check for reviews. I was surprised at how many positive reviews there were on all the sites and they had a resolution to pretty much all issues that came up on the BBB site. We also felt the 12 year labor warranty offered from Garabar was sufficient, especially considering it is transferable one time. After signing the contract, we contacted Jessica at the main office and she was very informative and helpful answering our questions on what we could expect as the next step in the process. Within a few weeks I was informed that they were starting on roof replacement and it would take 2 days. After this we had to wait for tile delivery which took a little bit longer due to the holidays. Tiles were delivered toward the end of December and they were installed at the beginning of a January. The entire process from start to finish only took about a month, even with a Christmas and New Years causing some delays. Considering how much of an investment a roof replacement is, it can be quite difficult to decide on a roofing company. With this said, we were very happy with our choice of Garabar. They did an outstanding job on our roof in a timely manner, kept great communication with us, and were very professional throughout the entire process. Thank you to the entire Garabar family for following through on everything you promised, included a great roof!!"

"The professionalism from the quote process to Last day of install has been OUTSTANDING. on the tearoff day they layed tarps down , protected landscaping and walked the grounds at the end of the day to pick up scrap material. The workers were efficient, quick and worked as a team. they advised me on all decking that needed to be replaced and layed down the material and wet-mopped in preparation for next phase for inspection and then the delivery of roofing tile and setting up on roof was efficient and quick. The tile setting went smoothly and the final product was impressive. I will use them again. The communication and letting us know know the schedule was seamless. we did not half to wait or wonder when they were coming. one phase ended and the next phase was only a few days after city of Hollywood Insp. The inspectors were always happy at what they saw."

"I had heard about good and bad roofing contractors in Florida - whomever did our roof in 2005 was not a good one - so approached our search for a good roofing contractors very carefully. We researched reviews, looked at Nextdoor to see what people said every time someone asked who a good roofing contractor would be, and did a lot of homework. Time after time, we saw Florida Top Shield pop up as one of the best. I called roofing companies, and took multiple bids, looking at how they handled us as potential customers. Andy, with Florida Top Shield, was on time, courteous, took the time to show us our options and the types of products used. His bid was one of the lower bids, too - not exorbitant or inflated. We were impressed. So we hired Florida Too Shield to do the job. Our insurance company had told us that our roof must be replaced before September 23 or they would cancel our insurance. Shortly before the job was to start, my husband had to go in the hospital (as of this writing, that was 11 days ago, and he is still there). Nevertheless, on a time crunch, we gave Florida Top Shield the go-ahead to do the job. They started on Wednesday a week ago. Their crew started early to beat the weather and worked late. They installed hurricane straps. When it rained before they were done they double checked inside to make sure everything was okay. They were focused, polite, used no fowl language nor listened to any offensive music. They were meticulous in their attention to detail to make sure our new gutters and leaf guards weren't damaged. I took photos of the entire process so my hospitalized husband could follow their progress. They finished late on Saturday night, days ahead of schedule. The result was stunning. I went up and walked on it, taking pictures to show my husband. I was impressed with the way they replaced the flashing around our recently rebuilt chimney and carefully retrimmed around that chimney with cedar. Beautiful work! They also worked to make sure the site was cleaned up afterward, and I only found breakage on one plant - which I suspect might have happened on the last day since they worked until dark to get the job done right. When we received the final invoice there were no undisclosed cost overruns and everything was within previously discussed parameters. Andy came by after the work was done as I wanted to give him a check directly and shake his hand, and let him know how appreciative we were of a good job. What impressed me even more, however was when the building inspector came to do the final inspection. His words: "this is a good company, and one of the few..." I recommended these people to anyone. Fast, efficient, quality workmanship, integrity."
