"Jeff arrived when he said he would and performed the work as promised. We didn't discuss disposal of the old carpet ahead of time and I didn't realize that I would have to do that, but as it wasn't too much carpet, it was not difficult to put it with other trash for pickup."

"Working with the owners was fine.  They didn't seem as organized as some of the other companies we visited, but we were referred to them by a coworker whom we trust.  We did pick a fairly expensive carpet and thick pad, so it was pricey.   The dust and noise was terrible, but the outcome was well worth it.  The carpet is beautiful and the workmanship is excellent. My husband and I are very pleased and I must admit, terrified at this point of spilling anything on the beautiful carpet.  We will be having them back to finish two more bedrooms and the basement."

"Jerry, of Nip & Tuck, did a great job of repairing a loose seam on my carpet. He was very professional and the carpet looks good. Price was reasonable, and I loved the appointment verfication system and follow through. I would use them again."

"Lenny is very good at what he does. He knows his products very well and let's you know which product will work best for the space it will be installed in. He explains the process in detail and is very focused on floor preparation to ensure that your product will last a long time. I am a REMODELING contractor and have been using Downright flooring for the last 8 years. Lenny is always on time and gets the job done when he says it will be done."

"I found Liberty on Angie's list two years ago. They have been here 3 times and I'm very satisfied each time. This time there was also a minor repair and this was conducted to my satisfaction. They get out water and food stains and wear and tear very well. I have no pet stains or odors so can't speak to that. Try them - they have treated my carpet expertly and they are congenial and polite, professional!"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Lakewood, CO

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
