"A frozen pipe in my mother’s kitchen above a finished garage left us in dire straights. The exterior of the home is brick construction from the 1950’s but the pipe froze in such a way as to run across the floor and ruin the vapor barrier in the exterior walls. How to replace it without tearing down the brick? I asked seven contractors for a bid. All came out to look at the job, but it was a complicated repair in a persnickety township. Only two of them actually gave me a bid. I chose A.W. Martin and I’m glad I did. His bid was slightly higher, but his word was true: all expenses he had reckoned with wound up being covered by our homeowner’s insurance. Plus I had direct access to Tony via his cell phone at all times - a novelty to me since it did not work that way when I had used the insurance-preferred contractor for a previous repair. Indeed, communication was superior! Tony took the time to explain all aspects of the job in layman’s terms and didn’t mind if I called back for further clarification. He advised me about modifications that wouldn’t cost much now, but would save big bucks in the future. Tony worked around my schedule, which was important to me since I lived out of state and was overseeing the project from a distance. He sent workers from his team who spoke standard English - important to my elderly mother who is hard of hearing and has trouble understanding folks with accents. (Some of his subcontractors did speak Spanish). To save me money, Tony let me provide a shelving unit that I wanted recessed in a wall, charging only for installation and trimming it. And he dealt with all aspects of the township permit process - no small deal for the township my mother lives in! His electrician, Tim Murphy, installed my preferences of where the ceiling lights should be to the inch - to the inch! This electrician came back out at no charge one week after things were finished when the washing machine ground-faulted out and my mom needed help. It hasn’t happened since. I found Tony to be amiable, generous with his time and very concerned about customer satisfaction. The one down-side was that I had requested no work over the weekends, since Saturday was my day of worship and Sunday my mother’s. I did have to take him to task for scheduling subcontractors on Saturday, and he rescheduled them. If you are a seventh-day Sabbath keeper be very explicit about your request for no Saturday work. All in all, my experience using A.W. Martin was superior. I highly recommend Tony and his company. When I started the repair I had over twenty numbers for contractors on my cell phone. After the job, I am down to four: Russel Garage Door, Rich’s Carpet One, the electrician Tim Murphy, and A.W. Martin, itself."

"It was a difficult project requiring the removal of current siding, then significant patching, sanding and carpentry to prepare the original clapboard for paint. The crew was very hard working and super creative when it came to solving problems. They showed up on time every day and finished the project according to schedule. "Exactly as expected. Gregory repaired both siding and gutter. After a heavy rain, the gutter repair has solved the problem. The trim repair matches well (white). This was a small job and I was pleased to have Gregory work it into his schedule. Both repairs required a 40' ladder as they were about 2 1/2 to 3 stories up. "I hired Aztec for major repairs due to termite damage. They were prompt, professional, and easy to work with. They came in less than 10 days after we contacted them to FINISH the work. First, they evaluated the damage and walked me through the needed repairs which included placing three new steel support beams along with two main horizontal wood beams and several sistered beams. They were able to complete the work, once they started, in three days. At each step, I was informed of progress and there were no surprises (from my end). The work included everything from removing electrical wiring and then replacing it, pouring the new steel vertical support beams, affixing them solidly into my concrete floor, and then pacing the numerous horizontal beams. I could not recommend AZtec (and Greg!) more."

"Very well! Ricardo arrived at my home to perform an estimate exactly on time and explained everything entailed in performing the repairs. After a few weeks, I had Five Star Flooring do the work. The technicians arrived on time and completed the work very quickly. The end result was great, especially in the kitchen where the wooden floor finish was very worn and damaged. It didn't look like new, but I hadn't expected it to, either, since it was in very bad shape. Only one hitch: the workers who performed the work failed to tell me that the finish needed to "cure" for two weeks. After one week, I vacuumed the floor and it left streaks in the finish. I called Ricardo back, and he explained about not cleaning it for two weeks. Within several days, one of his workers returned and repaired the finish at no additional charge. I am very pleased with the overall experience and will definitely use Five Star Flooring the next time I need wooden floor repairs."

"I got a deal from Berger about their table pad and just in time for my new dining room set. I didn't have time to set the template due to a new baby in the house. "The crew shower up on time. Did all the prep work, patched and sanded all the imperfections, applied a coat of primer and two coats of paint. Attention to detail, work along edges and mouldings was amazing. After the work was completed, they cleaned, helped me mount the tv back on the wall and we began enjoying freshly painted space. Love the new colour."

"We were not pleased with the work of this company.  While the price is right, there were so many things that went wrong on the job that I'm not sure if I can remember all of them.
First of all, when I hire a painter, my assumption is that they will work on my job only until the project is complete.  This was not the case.  The painters left the job for days on end, being called to other locations.  The work was sloppy in numerous places - we had to keep calling them back to correct things.  I also had bedroom furniture damaged when the workers moved my end tables to another room - they didn't take the care necessary to protect them.  Walls under light covers/cable covers were not painted - they were left the original color of the rooms.  My bedroom wall has cracked in one place already - as they didn't do the repair needed in that area evidently to prevent that from happening.  Paint has chipped in other areas - something which should not happen so soon after completion.
At exterior painting they also didn't take care to protect elements of the home properly.  I had paint spatter covering newly installed railings at my front walkway, stains applied incorrectly on wood lattice which they installed (numerous empty areas - should have used a spray gun for that or painted it before installation), totally ruined my exterior balcony door with using too thick a layer of paint on it.  There were paint brush hairs all over the door as well, paint on screens (why they weren't removed or covered is beyond me), spattered paint on a custom mailbox, and the same on our house number plaque.  
There is more, but I'll just leave it at it was an extremely sloppy job which took literally WEEKS to complete and I was told it would take less than 1 week.  
While there were some circumstances that made the job take longer (some weather related and some of his workers having personal problems), the amount of errors exceeded what would be considered excusable.
The only good thing I can say is that from far away, the house looks ok and, the owner Phil (others mention a different name, not sure why) tried to be as pleasant as possible throughout this.
