"I recently engaged All-Star Mechanical to replace my aging A/C unit. I am normally vigilant in securing multiple bids on larger jobs like this but have come to learn from earlier experiences that Larry at All-Star always comes through with a top shelf job at a very reasonable price. Cooling seems more constant and quiet compared to our old unit. It is also cooling the far reaches of our upstairs spaces better than before. What is especially important to note is that our house is on the larger side at 4,500 sqft and our new A/C unit, a Trane 3.5 ton unit, is cooling our house as it should… and even better than our previous 5.0 ton unit ever did. I was skeptical when Larry first recommended going with a smaller unit as virtually every site I checked online advised installing a unit of 5 or more tons for a house that size. My conclusion is that Larry was completely right. This did not surprise me as he really knows his profession inside and out. The industry seems unified in pushing homeowners to buy more (spend more) than they need. I am very happy with the smaller unit that delivers a steady flow of cool air rather than the shorter on and off blasts of cool air. The air in our house also seems dryer, telling me that the smaller unit is especially effective at dehumidifying the air, another critical function of air conditioning. In short, we are very happy with Larry’s advice and the results of his work."

"I recently purchased a house in Lansing. After purchase I noticed a musty smell and found that the roof was previously damaged. I reached out to 4 local Lansing contractors and 2 regional contractors. Of the six, only Elieff Brothers Roofing gave me a quote that was appropriate to the code for a low slope roof. On installation day we found that the previous roofing contractor had violated building code and used some unorthodox materials and methods and changed the scope of work to do my job right. Steve (one of the Elieff brothers) was on my roof immediately to figure out what was going on. Steve explained the situation, provided evidence of previous substandard work, went over all the options including cost and quality so that I could make an informed decision. With their many years in the business in Lansing, he was able to provide me with several options for insulation replacement, mold remediation contractors that he trusted. Steve and team were able to coordinate with the additional contractors to get my roof done .. and done right. I can't thank Steve, Rhett, DJ, Cooper and his awesome crew enough. This was basically the most stressful house nightmare I've ever had and these guys just kept telling me that it's nothing they hadn't seen before and it's going to be solid when they are done. These guys bent over backwards for me. The quality is top notch, their teams are well trained and get it done. Just amazing. You guys knocked it out of the park. I am so glad I chose Elieff Brothers Roofing. Even though this job turned out to be bigger than expected, had this been a standard roof and deck replacement this would have been easily the best price of all the local contractors. They had the honest price for the work they did. Again, they where the only company that quoted the job to meet building code requirements. These guys should be on your list of roofers to call, you won't be disappointed. I wish I could give six stars. They are that good at what they do. "They said the entire chase cap on the roof needed replaced at a cost of over 800$ for stainless steel because of the rust and being 35 years old. They implied that it should not wait until spring but my inspection proved them wrong. I don't like strong armed tactics and their two hours of labor for two people to clean two chimneys is excessive when no replacement parts were involved. Cleaning the second chimney that will never be used should have a discounted price when we are considering removing the fireplace completely."

"Salt & melt/thaw cycles had damaged the front stoop to my brick house beyond repair, so Perry & Perry came out, gave me an estimate, then went to a salvage yard in Detroit to find bricks which almost perfectly matched my original 1928 brickwork.  They built a scaffolding, constructed the steps, then put on cement caps so the salt/ice wouldn't cause damage in the future.  Really exceptional job--plus they are my neighbors & so was happy to throw some business their way. <br />"
